What I don't understand is that if the Mayweather camp bought tickets to surpass Pac-Mosley and 3,00 tickets were still unsold, does that mean that Pac-Mosley was not sold out?

It's probably reliable. He's a shitty journalist, but somehow he's an insider. I also don't think that buying their own tickets is that unusual. It wouldn't surprise me if this happens in all big fights to some extent.

Yes that's pretty sad and if correct it proves that boxing is in a crisis in the US.

It's not clear which tickets failed to sell, though. Some tickets were going for over $1000. I imagine all of the affordable seats were sold out. I saw Pavlik v Taylor II at the MGM and my seats were $500 and though I was close I wasn't even on the floor.

lol... Bute would've sold more at live gate than Mayweather, he sold over 10,000 in one hour for the Johnson fight.

Hatton and the KBros sell out 50,000 seater stadiums with ease over this side of the pond.

Biggest event of the year and doesn't even sell out

If the tickets were reasonable for most casual fans they would sell out. The prices are ridiculous for most blue collar working folks, which is also the biggest base of fans. You get a better seat at home for the PPV price.
