i didn't like the SRL/RJJ comparisons which were being made during the fight but ward hasn't really had any trouble in his fights so far.

ward is more then likely going to the finals but it depends on who he faces. IF it's AA i think that one is 50/50 if it's Kessler rematch we'll lets see if Kessler can improve and get sharper. but Ward beats him. so far i see Ward, AA and Kessler in the final 4 if dirrell loses to ward. then Froch by defualt will go in wether he beats AA or not. Kessler should almost certainly beat No show Green but either way He'll be in the semi unless Dirrell Can upset Ward but he would need a KO.

Techinically, Dan Rafael is no more qualified to analyse fights than the rest of us. He's just a fan with contacts and a high profile outlet to voice his opinion. I understand your point though, and I think Ward's performance was dominant if not inspiring.

Sour grapes from "fans" in denial who ain't men enough to own up and give credit where credit is due.

The day those type of fans find themselves congratulating a fighter they hate that beat a fighter they like well then they'll know they've finally grown up :rasta

Well if those comments by Rafael make him an 'Andre Ward nuthugger' then i'm one too, and proud to be one! Good God do some people hate it when you dominate.

Ward shows smarts, but he'd lose to Bute. Sadly we won't know until about 2012, when Ward- Bute ushers in the apocalypse!!!:yikes

Dear lord, will the nuthugging ever end? Ward is fast becoming the most overrated current fighter. I cannot wait until Dirrell exposes him.

Ward was not impressive in beating Green but he came in with a plan and stuck to it to win the fight. It may have not been pretty but he won. I would have loved for him to push for the KO because I thought he had Green hurt at one point.

So I guess these days, writing something positive about the winner of a championship bout constitutes hugging.

Im seriously not sold on Bute. If Libresse Andrade can KTFO Bute so can Ward.

I say Ward ko3 Bute~ Bute still isnt tested was Andrade KO loss fluke or not...

lol, so.... what will you say if Ward does win a unanimous decision or even TKO Dirrell out? I WILL say that Dirrell is the most athletically-gifted Supermid BUT he is NOT consistent, or matured in his boxing abilities. Ironically, Andre Ward's strengths are consistency & maturity. I would not expect Dirrell to bring up the drama or shenanigans he stirs up in the ring though, considering that they're both friends. I would say that Dirrell would have a chance to take Ward, but he's just not quite there yet.

Im a strong fan of Andre Ward, but he wouldnt roll over Lucian Bute at all. In fact, Lucian would be his most dangerous fighter he'll ever meet - forget the super6 tourney. He's got fast hands AND serious 1punch KO power. And a very unconventional/lazy punching style, though VERY fluid. I would call this a very close fight but Ward comes out on top from a great gameplan and the ability to adjust, be versatile....

Watch any Ward fight and you'll hear commentators just "compliment carpet bomb" Ward and his technique & styles. Dan Raphael isnt a lone one in that, as a writer. Not sure why they keep on doing that, must be some random thing in the universe causing that. Yeah, these guys who are paid to do their thang, they dont know what the hell is going on. Obviously we unpaid n00bs really know whats up...

have to agree with Rafael 100% on that one

he's not a nuthugger just calling it like it is

Ward's win over Green was about as good, maybe a little less, as Kessler's win over Andrade. I remember everyone was praising Kessler for that win back then.
