It says here it got a 9 rating peaking with a 13 rating. For arguments sake we can assume that's 9 and 13 million respectively .. but in all likeliness its much much lower than that. The article says it came third place for the day after a 20 and 10 point rating.

In case you're not convinced consider how the article mentions the leading show for the day pulled a 20 point rating. If UFC Rio's 9 points pulled a 30 million that would indicate the leading show pulled over 60 million viewers. First of all an impossibility since the available market share pool is only 46 million to begin with, and secondly the most watched Brazilian TV show of 2011 had 31 million viewers.

Also note how the article above says Passione got 31 million with 51 rating and a 70% share. Dana's trying to say the UFC managed 30 million with a 9 or 13 rating and 20% share? Only Dana could tell such a big lie and have people believe him.

    You're confusing households with viewers.

1 rating point = x number of households

    1 household = x number of viewers

So if around 13million households were watching UFC Rio 1 then its very plausible that the audience could have been closing on 30million. Also the assumption that 1.0 = 1 million viewers may not be true but we'll see.

And then there's a difference between average and peak viewership. So say Velasquez-Dos Santos. That averaged around 5.6million on FOX but peaked at around 9million.

    dana lied no way

if he said it was watched by 30 million people he could be telling the truth, alvarez was watched by 15 million households and they estimated at 4 people per household so they claimed he was watched by 60 million mexicans
