Throughout this show I have lost tremendous respect for Matt Serra. All he does is bicker and talk **** about Hughes any chance he gets. His insecurities are shining and he looks ****ing stupid. He is coming off as immature and unprofessional. Hughes on the other hand is letting the **** roll off and coming off as very professional. Well last night, being that there are two quarterfinal matches pitting Serra's guys against eachother, Dana White decided that 2 of Serras guys had to train with Hughes. Serra, obviously, bitched about it and was dis-agreeing and unhappy. Then Dana straight up put him in his place and shut him up. He said something along these lines, "You know **** all this team bull****, yeah we're all teammates! But Matt Hughes is one of the best fighters in UFC history and in the history of the sport so any chance to train with him is a good one." :rofl :rofl :rofl Serra just stood there and shut his ****ing mouth after that!!! I love when Dana gets raw with these guys, he's good at talking tough. :hey
I used to hate Serra but have actually warmed to him Cause I hate Hughes too. Serras impression of Hughes was funny as ****. I hope Serra KTFO of Hughes. People forget how disrespectful HUghes was to Royce which is unforgivable IMO.
Hughes is a assclown did u see how he acted then his 2 new guys tried to have a talk with him ? Id say **** u u ***get id rather have Robbie Lawler coach me as Hughes talks about his gameplans all day long but the only guy he can win with is his best guy Mac Danzig.
In all fairness, I wouldn't have been to happy either if Richie mother****ing Hightower pulled me aside to "make sure I was going to have his best interests at hand". I saw Hughes's point he was making.
Matt Hughes shouldn't be a coach. When a member of his team loses he doesn't try to improve anyone he just beats them up as he is pissed and feels like he lost. He is stuck with his wrestler mentality, get huge muscular guys as they must be real tough, then make them cut loads of weight, then pray they aren't weight drained enough to fight. I don't think these tactics work.
Hughes is a **** coach and I don't like him as a person. He bangs on about Jesus and farming like he is some kind of superior being. So you wrestle? So you are a farmer? So you read the bible? Well **** off Hughes you one dimensional ******* who slates Serra for cussing then sucks Dana 'pottymouth' White's ****. **** you.
How many champions has Serra helped produce? And what the hell are you guys talking about disrespecting Royce? He went in, beat the **** out of him in every single aspect, and was rather cordial about it.
Hughes sort of got screwed in this season. As soon as he was forced to let that guy fight that had to go home because of his cousin dying... he couldn't get back on track. That gave Serra the upper hand, and he was able to choose too many fights after that. Also, some of Hughes' fighter flat out froze in their fights. I think that Hughes has great coaching ability, and it seems like Serra really connects with his fighters. However, Serra is really starting to get on my nerves with his antics. He is so consumed by his feud with Hughes that nothing else ever comes out of his mouth.
Thing is, this was a competition between Serra, his choices in his team, and his training vs. Hughes.. Hughes talked a load of **** and is being a ***** about losing, even threatened to walk away. This is supposed to be a team competition and this is a huge deal for both guys, as they are very competetive in nature. Yeah, Serra looks almost as bad as Hughes with all his bitching and **** talking, in the end its still a competition.
Not really, in reality this is a competition between the fighters who are in the octagon. The weeks that these guys have worked with each fighter doesn't completely change who the fighters are as individuals. This show isn't about the coaches, it is about the fighters who are trying to get that UFC contract. I hate it when either Coach makes this show out to be about them. Whether it is Hughes, or Serra. I have followed every show since the very first one, as I was a fan of MMA long before TUF. However, I can't remember much about how the coaches themselves or the "teams" did... as it really doesn't matter. In the end, it is about who is the best fighter, not the best team, or the best coach.
Its in part about the coaches as well. I'll agree, its mainly about the fighters, but you cannot deny that Hughes and Serra are in competition with one another. Whether they have a huge impact on the outcome of the fights or not, they made their picks and both believed their teams were superior. Hughes, threatening to forfeit just shows how much Serra's team has owned his..
