Do you work for the UFC? MMA should be about matching the best fighters against each other to find out who the best is. Pride was willing to accept UFC fighters in their tournaments. That was MMA at it's greatest. All the UFC is concerned with is business. Even if Fedor comes in for only one fight and whoops Lesnar, Dana and those Zucchinis will still get their money. Probably more than they will ever make in one fight. So what if Brock's stock takes a fall? As a fan I don't really care about the UFC protecting their cash cows. I just want to see who the best is. I don't know about you. And Fedor is a special case, a one off. The UFC will survive with the world knowing their heavyweight champ is not the true world heavyweight champ. Heck, that's what's been happening anyway.

They will look like idiots, from a business standpoint, yes. They will get respect from MMA fans. They could always sign Fedor for future fights, should they be willing to pay a fighter of his worth his fair share. But that would be a stretch.
Dana has sighed tons of fighters to one fight contracts. For him to sign Fedor to one is smart business because he then gets to promote one of the biggest bouts of all times under his banner. If that then makes him look like an idiot for making one of MMA's best bouts then may be you should find another sport to watch.
