Dana White: Anderson Silva wants a new 10-fight deal with UFC

    If we're to believe UFC President Dana White, Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva wants a new contract from the promotion. But he doesn't want a run-of-the-mill four or five fight deal. He wants 10 -- count 'em -- 10 more fights


    Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is currently signed with the promotion for two more fights. He's gone back-and-forth on the subject of retirement, first saying he would be out of the game at 35-years-old, then later claiming he could continue his career for another 10 years.

    As of late, it's seemed he's content on taking it one fight at a time. But if we're to believe UFC President Dana White, that's not the case.

    That's because he revealed to fans during a live chat with MetroPCS that the UFC approached the reigning pound-for-pound king with a new 8-fight contract offer. And he turned it down.

    "**** that, I want a 10-fight deal," Silva said. Or at least that's what White said Silva said. Expletive likely added.

    So now we will the matchups that we want to see. If he wanted to fight more often why didnt he say say in years gone by. Whats he fought 5 times in the last 3 years and 2 of them were against Sonnen and one against a severely outmatched Bonnar..

    Why the sudden change of heart I wonder.

    This is what i believe he and Georges St Pierre should do

    They should avoid each other under the UFC banner, have 2 maybe 3 more fights, then both leave once contracts have expired.

    Then drop the BOOM! open air fight in Dubai and both net sums of money never seen before in MMA and never to be seen again, self the promote the fight, or sub-contract the promotion and put on the biggest, most outrageous single MMA event in the history of the sport!

    The winner takes the first ever official P4P crown and retires with it, leaving that lanky twat Jon Jones to mediate and only dream of becoming MMA royalty.

    Thats what they should do, think about it, it makes a ****in hell of a lot of sense!

    10 fights is madness but the fact is he isn't shot so its one fight at a time and he could be the next Randy Couture. On occassions he has looked like he is slipping but motivation and bad styles seems to have been the reason in hindsight.

    There aren't even ten cans left at MW. He'd have to change divisions, take tough fights, or just beat up Rich Franklin ten more times. None of these options seem very likely.
