He is competing under the NSAC, why on earth would he even consider anybody else's rules? They are completely irrelevant. It's not like Toney followed those rules, or even the rules he was supposed to. He cheated and still looks like he does.

Fact is you don't know who is or is not on hormones.

Fact is Toney tested postive for steroids.

Fact is Couture would be in better shape regardless of any assistance.

Yeah completely irrelavent during Randy's career as a Greco Roman wrestler in the Olympics. But relavent for Toney who fought Ruiz years ago. Geez man your such a tool. Toney tested positive for hormones. Randy's actually on them. Yup no relavence at all.

What do we know about Randy and hormones? What is fact, what is strong opinion and what is a possibility?

He followed the rules when he was wrestling. The WADA rules are irrelevant to him NOW. Now he follows the rules that are relevant to him, by taking a medically acceptable level of HRT, deemed by the NSAC to not be an unfair advantage. That is assuming he actually is, I don't know for absolute certain and neither do you. Likely? Yes.

The NSAC rules were relevant to Toney at the time he cheated.

Usually people don't get caught on their first time, it's like getting a speeding ticket.

Right, jabbing and waiting is the way to stop one of the best technical wrestlers from taking you down.

If were that easy, everybody would do it.

Toney has never had to stop a takedown before, and now he's gonna do it against a guy who has picture perfect technique and decades of practice?

Toney winning by sub...or Toney outwrestling Couture would be the ultimate humiliation...Toney by KO wouldn't be much of a surprise , but it would hurt more the ufc & dana than the sport of mma.

There is a clear ethical distinction between CHEATING by taking a banned substance and not cheating by taking an unbanned substance that you happen to think should be banned. You can only expect professional athletes to try to take every supplement and get every possible advantage of their opponents within the rules and it is unfair and a mistake to judge them for taking completely legal things.

Also, the Olympics ban certain cough medicines. It's not exactly the best method ever, olympic restrictions are too strict. Albuterol (a common asthma medication that is not exactly a strong performance enhancer) is banned at the olympics...

Toney is great in the pocket though with counter-shots and inside hooks and uppercuts...obviously a wrestling clinch varies from a boxing hold but being close to a guy trying to smother his arms and upper body is something Tony is used to and works well with.

I don't think randy will clinch and dirty box etc in order to distract JT to get the takedown. JT is so inexperienced in this area it will be more like clinch and trip within a second. a big factor is that in boxing you are not allowed to duck below waist height,, RC will come in under the radar and get hold of JT and then take him to the mat with ease. Once JT is on his back he may as well tap because it is all but over.

Probably the most simplistic and naieve reading of any combat sport I have ever read.
