Thanks for the info. I always thought it would be significantly more. I guess WWE performers earn more.

These are public numbers, not to mention UFC works with fighters on getting them sponsors.

Please, indulge me, show me a typical Boxing card, and their pay out.

MMA is taking place of the old professional wrestling route boxers used to take. In the 1980's and prior, many a big name at the end of their careers wound up in pro wrestling, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, Muhammad Ali, Michael Dokes, Primo Carnera to name a few. These days we see Butterbean, Shannon Briggs, Jeremy Williams, Ray Mercer and now James Toney wants to get apart of MMA.

However, even an old washed up war horse like Ray Mercer proved that all it takes is one punch to turn a fight around, when he sparked out Tim Sylvia in 9 seconds. Joe Rogan said the obvious that day, that boxing and mma strikers are world's apart. Its a shame boxing isnt more focused in MMA, else these guys would be a complete package.

I dont see the harm in Toney or any other boxer wanting to do it. If anything is a freak show, it is K-1 with sumo wrestlers taking on former football players in kickboxing contests.

I think it's been established that most of the guys (even those who don’t have PPV cuts) are making way more than the numbers released to the commissions would lead you to believe.

Put it this way, to use a non-UFC example, back in 2004 Bob Sapp fought Tommy Glanville at a K-1 show in Vegas. The commission numbers showed that for his fight he earned $5,000. There is no way back in 2004 that Sapp was only making five thousand for a fight. So, the commission numbers don’t always reflect what people are truly making.

Another example took place back in 2003 when Mark Hunt, Gary Goodridge and Stefan Leko all fought at a K-1 USA show and according to the commission numbers made $50 each. Yes, that’s fifty dollars.

I would like to see MMA fighter's full salaries disclosed. I remember once Dana White scoffing when someone asked him about Keith Jardine's measly salary in his fight will Chuck Liddell. He immediately assured the reporter that Jardine made more.
    But how much more?

Keeping the numbers secret only makes speculation that the fighters are under paid even worse. If indeed these guys make significantly more money, and the actual amounts would reassure us all who are voicing concerns, then make it public.
Or could it be that they really aren't making all that much more, and some guys are just abysmally paid.

Generally speaking boxers have the same mental and physical ability as mixed martial artists and every other combat sport. The only difference is how that mental and physical talent is nurtured.

The Hattons, the Klits, Cintron, Haye etc are all mixed martial artists and could make the cross over. Just like Couture boxed in the army, Belfort could box etc etc

Since the best boxing prospects (pure athletes) are in the NFL/NBA
Maybe that's where Dana should look...

Trust me, MMA is NO better than boxing and high level MMA fighters never get the PPV percentage their boxing counterparts get.
