The president of the UFC, Dana White, was not impressed with the Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar De La Hoya HBO pay-per-view. He said HBO's production of the pay-per-view was terrible, there was no proper pacing with the pay-per-view event - which is likely because of the terrible undercard that was packed with mismatches.

“Did you see the production? And that was HBO. Maybe they should give us some of their Emmys. The pacing was awful. There was no energy in the crowd. They had to loop Pacquiao’s music when he came out because he had to walk so far…. I love boxing as a sport and I came from boxing, but this was a bad day for boxing," White told Yahoo Sports .

White predicts that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is going to come out of retirement to fight Pacquiao and he picks Mayweather to pull out the win, but he doesn't agree that Pacquiao's win is a passing of the torch because he doesn't believe that any fighter will be able to draw crowds and sell pay-per-views like Oscar De La Hoya.

Floyd Mayweather’s probably running out of money and will probably return to face Pacquiao, and I’d pick Mayweather in that one, but nobody is going to draw like De La Hoya does,” White said.

Do you agree, I sure as hell dont !

What can you do about three fights that last 5 rounds? If every UFC match ends in 20 seconds, that would look like a shitty show too. You can't bank on anything in fight sports.

And the crowd? What are they supposed to do about that?

I'm thinking it did very well and Dana is a bit sour about it.

What does he know ... i'm sure that fight did atleast 2million PPV buys ... i'm sure that that fight alone will eclipse the total of UFC buys for the year.

When is it bad to see an underdog defy the odds and rise up to victory?

Everyone loves those kinds of stories and it was real ... not only did Pac win but he stopped his opponent who physically (other than speed) was supposed to have all the advantages.

Dana White can go to hell ... once someone dies ... we'll see how long UFC would be around.

cmon guys he's right. ufc tapes prelim matches and shows them when the main bouts go short.

they had 3 prospects to show, and it totalled 9 minutes of boxing against hopeless opposition. medina and resto were expected to give something, they didnt. the ppv turned into an informercial for itself, you paid to watch an advertisement of the product you just bought.

the crowd was lousy, since the undercard was so lousy, and there were so much wasted time. why couldnt they just show us the guys fighting in the background? at least we'd get boxing which is what we paid for.

boxing will bring more deaths than ufc, and more long-term damage

the ring walks were way too long, though i think it was done on purpose to build tension. it ended up just looking stupid, i wondered for a few seconds it they had made a wrong turn somewhere, if that's why the ring walk was taking so long, but no, it was intentional, and utterly ridiculous.

    I can see his point.

From a production standpoint - The card was garbage bag.

From a fight point of view - I've not seen a one sided beat down that entertaining in a long time.

I don't understand where this comes from, do rugby team owners and Presidents insult football? Dana should be more mature and actually act like a business professional, all of these comments are just going to make him look more stupid when the UFC goes tumbling down.

Pac-DLH probably doubled Couture-Lesnar's PPV numbers.
