GSP and Wanderlei would get absolutely ****ed up in a stand up fight. Wanderlei is careless and reckless and would get picked apart. I'm a Canadian and even I know GS's standup is average. Put Wanderlei in with David Haye standup only, no gloves and Silva would get raped.

If I'm not mistaken silva has even tried professional boxing and his efforts were abysmal.

Jesus Imagine prime Tyson with MMA gloves. You wouldn't even be able to see his fists.

Even in MMA there are rules. Can you imagine Wlad or Vitali landing a ****ing rabbit punch on Brock? Without gloves? He would be damaged for life. So, we don't know what would happen in a street fight.

If Oscar absolutely destroyed Oscar in the fight, then I would agree with him, but tht sure as hell didn't happen.

dana s a hater. hes jealous boxers are admired as athletes , icons worldwide - whereas the guys he promotes like rolling around on the matt greased up with each others fists up the others' bum while trying to twist their balls with the other.

    UFC is ugly.

Agreed. The evolution of MMA is turning into fighters who are able to defend the takedown and dominate in the striking department (first Liddell, then later GSP, A. Silva, etc...) are rising to the top, which is what MMA fans really want to see, and which is why most top MMA fighters have been devoting most of their time learning how to box. GSP spars with Joachim Alcine. Arlovski trains with Freddy Roach. If you're a great striker, all you really need to do is learn how to sprawl and basic guard defense in avoiding submissions and how to tie up when on your back and stop the action, which will result in the fight being stood back up. Its kind of like MMA's version of holding in Boxing. I was a wrestler and I think its boring as all hell to watch. Most MMA fighters are crap ass boxers that close their eyes when they punch. Fact is, if they could be successful at boxing, they wouldn't be in MMA. That's an economic fact. Top level boxers dwarf what the top MMA guys make. And although promoters suck, its better than being a monopoly, which is what the UFC is, because fights like DLH v Pac can get made, and fights like Couture v Fedor can't. The UFC makes matches just like the alphabets do. At least boxing has The Ring Magazine, and numerous promoters that are willing to co-promote to make the sensible fights take place. And I think its ironic that the same MMA fans that diss boxing, are the same ***** and moan and demand fights to be stood up when they end up on the ground too long.

    :patsch

if they fought 10 times Vitali or Wlad would be lucky to land a punch once.

It's easy for a wreslter like Brock to take even Lennox Lewis down without getting punched once and pound him out.

If you have style vs style macthes the boxer comes out much worse everytime.

How often do they have street fights with each other? There are always rules. Imagine if a fighter gets the chance to land a shot on Lesnar's throat. What would he do then? You're basing this on a MMA contest. Even if they have less rules, there are still rules. They cannot take a heavy hitters shot. No way!!

Top MMA fighter's spend most of their time learning the greatest stand up martial art in the world which is Muay Thai. Not boxing. Of course they want to learn and improve on their pure boxing too but their main focus is Muay Thai.

You can be the best boxer in the world but your dead meat if you face a striker like Anderson Silva with awesome MMA based Muay Thai.

    MMA is for closet homosexuals,teenagers,rednecks.

If the sport was so great the crowds wouldn't boo 90% of the time at the live events, was there any booing last night for the boxing?? No

Boxing is the sport of kings while MMA is the sport of rednecks and queens.
