http://www.mmabay.co.uk/Story 01701.html UFC President, Dana White has revealed that if former UFC heavyweight champion, Josh Barnett can defeat Fedor Emelianenko on August 1st at Affliction: Trilogy, he will look to bring him back to the octagon. Speaking at the UFC 99 Q & A session for UFC Fight Club members, Dana said: If Josh Barnett beats Fedor, obviously I'd be interested in signing Josh Barnett. If he beat Fedor, obviously, he's one of the best in the world. Barnett captured the UFC heavyweight crown in 2002, defeating Randy Couture but he was swiftly stripped of the title after testing positive for steroids. He continued his career in Japan for the following four years.
He's almost right. If Barnett beats Fedor, as unlikely as that sounds, he'd be the best in the world. Not "one of the best".
Whatever Dana. Josh wont sign with the UFC out of principles. He hates Dana and the UFC product. Dana must really think theres a big long line of top guys just begging to sign with his org.
Josh won't sign with the UFC even if he beats Fedor. Dana will try to bend over Barnett too and I doubt he'll set himself up for that. Besides that, why wouldn't he try to sign him now? barnett is without a doubt the number two HW in the world, two-leagues better then anything the UFC has now.
Thats exactly what Josh would tell him to do. If Josh was coming back to the UFC he would have done it by now. He's never going to fight for Dana.
The UFC will sign Barnett again, if he looses to what could be a freak punch, Dana White will verbally abuse Barnett and make fun of him, he will sign to another company prove himself, the UFC will sign him back........ and the fans will loose more respect for the UFC. The UFC is like a fair ride of fighters coming and going.
