So UFC's most popular fighters, Silva and St. Pierre make about as much as Ward and Martinez who struggle to sell out arena's.

    Ok...

Dana has been talking more and more the last couple months, which coincidentally times with UFC cards being canceled or having their main events altered. He's starting to sound like the captain on a sinking ship, yelling, "Hey, don't pay attention to the hole in the hull. Just look at me waving my sword!"

Fix your product and shut your ****ing mouth, Dana.

I don't defend Dana often, but look at what he said there:
Here is the video if you are to lazy to read:

This is also from that same article:

It's all well and good to point at Floyd and Manny and Wlad. But once you get outside the PPV headliners, boxer's earnings fall off a cliff. It wouldn't surprise me at all if guys like Melvin Guillard and Stefan Struve earn more in a year than the equivalent level guy in boxing does. They seem to attract more sponsorships, for a start.

Plus a UFC guy who fights on the main card always has a good opportunity to pick up an extra 50-75k with a performance bonus. By itself that would beat the **** out of what a no-name boxer filling out a PPV card earns, I reckon. :smoke

dana is full of ****, ward dawson was a terrible match up and it was a small fight lets be honest, as good as dawson is he brings **** all to the table he is basically unknown

chavez would have easily cleared 5 or 6 million id say after his ppv cut and martinez 3 or 4 million, same as canelo alvarez on saturday night he would clear the 3 million mark easy for a nobody fight, then take maidana and those undercard fighters would all make more than your headliner ufc fighters outside of silva, jones gsp

whats wrong with this dudeand his lies, i guess there will always be those diehard mma fans who will believe anything dana says, when its all said and done it is really boxing that smokes ufc pay but dana is butthurt over his recent turn of bad luck and feels the need to talk **** to keep his casuals interested in his below par product of late

Add up the top 100 earning boxers, compare them to the top 100 earning fighters in MMA. You know exactly which figure will be higher even if you take out Floyd and Manny.

But thats because its a far, far bigger sport worldwide and in America. Floyd Mayweather is a bigger celebrity than the ufc brand. Why does he constantly need to compare he should focus on getting the rules on steroids changed so that his fighters can actually compete.

Because its one of the many ways Dana uses to keep his brand relevant. He has no problem with repeating the same schtick or even peddling lies via viral marketing. Boxing/MMA/UFC can happily coexist.
Remember this was a guy that said the UFC is neck and neck with football...Matter of fact IIRC he said it was more popular than football...Much to the chagrin of Lorenzo. Dana's just a promoter. Lying, cheating, stealing is part of the M.O.
