Ah yes, just what will save boxing. Another greedy egomaniac promoter who already has beef with all the other major promoters in the sport. Breath of fresh air.

I disagree he can change anything because he pays his fighters less so not many boxers will sign up for him. Problem for boxing today is boxers are overpaid so the top fights aren't happening because the level of pay they want ensures promoters will lose money when the top fighters fight

DW even picked a “President” for his Zuffa Boxing but nothing came out of it. It sounds interesting and I’m sure he could put on some great shows but the chance it actually will happen is slim to none. DW did have a meeting a few years ago with Hearns but nothing came out of that either.

I think the only way to create a ufc type structure is to control the boxing commisions, the sanctioning bodies and idealy the broadcasting.
Good luck with making that happen.

Yeah, he knows the big money are in boxing, but we know UFC is a rough form of the pro-wrestling, so his boxing promotion will be the same pornography. In any way we've enough sanctioning bodies.

I don't know or really care much about the business end of boxing, but can it get much worse? Maybe DW getting involved would have a positive effect. All I know is that the fights we all want to see are not getting made.

Who on earth will sign with Dana when other promoters pay so much more

Doing something good for boxing would be easy with a minimum amount of financing but a person like Dana White who is involved in insane nonsense like this powerslap business really isn't someone who is likely to do anything beneficial for anyone.

He puts on a nice show for fans when it comes to MMA, but don’t see him being able to replicate it in boxing. In MMA the talent pool is a lot smaller and he has most of the top talent signed to his business so he can pay them whatever he wants and make all the big fights happen.

With boxing all the top talent is scattered all over the world, signed amongst various promoters and TV deals, and fighting for different belts. I don’t see how he can get all the top talent without going bankrupt. HBO was doing well for a long time until DAZN over paid their boxers and looks like they will be going bankrupt themselves. Right now the top talent are unwilling to fight each other unless it’s overcompensated, have an over inflated sense of worth, while not doing much to attract fans. Dana is a bit of a greedy promoter himself so I’m not sure how he will get fighters to the bargaining table.

Now I think there are boxing promoters who have a better chance of making a rival MMA promotion than DW has of making a rival boxing promotion.

Needs to stay in his lane, which is a great business model, UFC. Boxing is not for him.
