1-Iwai looks the bigger man and lookign to fight off his jab, Shinohara looking for hooks early doors, Iwai moving smartly to avoid a fight but Shinohara is allplying opressure, good rigth hand from Iwai, nice salvo in return from Shinohara, Iwai takes a thudding left hook...another one lands a they are looking nasty shots. Good opening round

 

2-Iwai trying to again be the boxer in there but Shinohara is certainly having success and looking like the guy with the bang and he's the one who is coming forward, huge right hand from Iwai bounces off the face of Shinohara, Iwai with a nice uppercutt but stays still too long and Shinohara unleaches a flurry of hooks.

Iwai needs to use the uppercut more as Shinohara has no answer to them

 

3-Shinohara forcing the pace and action through the round, Iwai havign his moments but he did seem to struggle more there

 

4-Iwai bouncing around a bit more, but looks wary of the power of his foe, nice flurry of head shots from Iwai but he can't get Shinohara's respect, big right hand from Shinohara, notable rddening around the left eye of Shinohara, and Iwai is coming on strong here, Shinohara chant from the crowd - a lil unexpected, it didn't help him and Iwai has had hgis best round of the fight

 

5-This is the round where Shinohara stopped Watanabe. Good start from Iwai who is continuing his success from the previous round, Shinohara lands a 3 punch salvo, pace has dropped off massively! Iwai making the most of his well schooled jab but his footwork has slowed right down, think Shinohara has too little left in the tank to go to war though. Standing and trading a bit in the final minute but neither manages to hurt their man

 

6-Good start from Iwai, Shinohara looked worried for the first time, Iwai is staying on his ass here, and clearly takes the round

 

7-A small Shinohara chant starts the round but it ends quickly, Iwai back on his ass, Shinohara has some success but Iwai is walking him down a bit here. A good shot from Shinohara draws a "oooh" from the crowd but he's too tired to follow it up, Iwai working well and although he's taking one or two he's easily out working and out landing a tired looking Shinohara, nice flurry from Shinohara and another but he's punished by combination from Iwai, Iwai like a terrier here in the final 20 seconds!

 

8-Iwai on the front foot, Shinohara looking to retreat and fight conservatively - losing but he's not got enough left to go for it, nice attack from Iwai, wild miss from Shinohara, solid left from Shinohara but Iwai takes it and fires back, Shinohara cornered and Iwai is looking to break him down with body shots, Shinohara works his way out of the corner but doesn't have the fire to really mount a fight back. Final 30 seconds and both looking tired, Shinohara looking to put it all into one big swing but can't land the big one

 

Iwai wins the decision, and was the worthy winner, Shinohara came out with an enhanced reputation, good result all round

The second of the 8 rounders-
Masaru Sueyoshi (12-1, 7) v Kazuma Sanpei (12-3, 4)

Sueyoshi is JBC and OPBF ranked

 

1-Sanpei out mega fast and sees to catch Sueyoshi within seconds, tags him again and is fighting in an ultra-aggressive manner, gets tagged by a counter (a worry given he's been stopped a few times) but doesn't seem to give a **** and keeps on the offens,ve, big right hand from Sanpei and Sueyoshi looked hurt before holding, Sanpei rocks Sueyoshi with a straight left hand, rocks Sueyoshi again! For a guy with 4 KO's in 15 bouts this is bizarre, Sueyoshi having some moments but that was Sanpei's round!

The kid wants to crash the rankings here!

 

2-Slower start from Sanpei and it did look like Sueyoshi was starting to settle behind an effective jab but he got tagged hard. Sanpei fighting with his hands down and continues seeking a KO blow...ended the round looking tired though

 

3-More pressure from Sanpei, a big left hook and a solid straight right, Sueyoshi's jab is his key at the moment but Sanpei looks like he has dangerous intent still at this early stage, good little burst from Sueyoshi - who looks like a 90's boy band member, stiff shot from Sanpei has Sueyoshi holding for a second, hard hook from Sanpei, the jabs are frequent from Sueyoshi who is landing straight right hands but they have little weight behind them

 

4-Sueyoshi seems to be building every round and Sanpei is having less success but eating more shots. Seems like if we see a stoppage it'll be Sanpei getting stopped...big slurry from Sueyoshi! And a sharp 1-2-2-1 BRAWL!
