1-Kano looking to establish the range behind his jab, Ono looking and being more patient, Kano's trying to make the most of his speed punching and getting out of range, smart work by Kano, good body shot from Ono - he'll need them, body shot from Kano, Ono working in the clinch better, Ono starting to pick up his work in the final moments of the round, but that's a Kano round

 

2-Kano continuing to try and use his speed and mobility, just misses with a body shot, Ono working the body in the clinch and Kano fires back, Ono works the body up close, a good left hand from Ono! another good left from the challenger, body shot from Kano, a right hook from Kano, Ono again tried to pick up the action in the final seconds when he'd already lost the round

Expecting Ono to increase his intensity soon

 

3-Ono with a body shot, Kano tries to return fire with a shot up top but Ono moves through the gears and takes the fight to Kano, this is what I was expecting form the champion, they both land body shots but Ono is keeping the pressure on and the intensity has been ramped up! Kano being backed up, a huge left from Ono on the side of Kano's face, solid shots by Ono, Kano fires back and they both land big body shots, Kano still has the edge in speed but the body shots are chipping away at that, nice attack up top by Kano but Ono immediately fires back.

Wow the pace picked up there!

 

4-Ono bringing the pressure again and he's working- the body up close. Kano's not out and out struggling but he's certainly not enjoying this charge from Ono who keeps digging in short body shots, Kano being pushed back and a cracking left hand from Ono lands clean, Kano on the ropes and he begins to eat more body shots, another single sickener, good 1-2 from Kano late

 

5-Ono continues to cut the distance try to work away on the body, Kano getting forced on to the ropes, Kano starting to work well whilst backing up but Ono's pressure is pretty unrelenting and he's wanting to draw Kano into a fire fight, body shots traded and Ono shoots upstairs as well as Kano backs is forced to take shots, a big left from Kano, one back from Ono, Ono swings and misses, Kano still has a fair bit of bounce in his toes and he's using it well, a good right hook from Ono hilights a little back and forth

3-2 either way seems likely

 

6-Kano looking to create distance again, Ono looks to be cut left eye - head clash seems to have been signalled, he complains to the referee and eats a big shot - protect yourself at all times I guess and there no stop call, Kano picking him off now, the cut is a proper bleeder, and the eye is a mess. Ono taken to the doctor...Referee seemed to signal a punch, then a headclash....that's a pretty gnarly cut but the doctor lets it go on, Ono trying to go all out and bores into Kano to unload body shots, Ono knows his time is limited here

 

7-Ono's team have done what they can to stop the bleeding but he's not helping things by boring in and having his head and Kano's rub together, Ono has gone quite timid in there and Kano looks to be loving life, boxing when he wants and fighting when he ants now, 1-2 on the cut, head shots from Kano, Ono chases him, bit shot near the cut, that's a huge target for Kano's shots, and it's re-opened!

 

8-Ono's corner really have done a good job with the cut,Kano targeting the head of the champion, body shots from Ono, Kano backed on to the ropes and Ono unloads to the mid-section, Kano down in pain - claims it's from a headclash, no count given and Ono has the "yeah **** you" look on his face, Kano looks dazed in the neutral corner, "Oh-No" chant, Ono attacking and trying to turn this into a war, and Kano is hurt, he looks really shaken at the moment, Ono continues to unload, Kano down! Kano up but Ono won't relent, Kano down again, he's still complaining about his head but the bout is stopped

We're going to have some controversy here!
