I don't particularly like him either, but its not because he is ugly.

I think this is proof positive that Silva's Mandible is suspect and Fedor has obviously fallen off seriously since he hit him flush and could do nothing with him. Cormier might yet develop into a serious contender, though that's a big if since he's already 32, but the guy has nine fights and anybody with a functioning eye can see that this incarnation of him is far removed from being prime Fedor.

Even so, I'm impressed with how far Cormier's boxing has come even since facing Monson. The finishing combo was superb and the overhand right that started it all was impeccably timed. What was most impressive, however, was the fact that Cormier was willing to test all of that out against a guy who has decent boxing skills of his own with over twice his amount of fights.

Bottomline? Amateur wrestling harbors some serious athletes that are on par with any professional sport AND it translates exceedingly well to MMA. And it's badass that MMA has finally becoome the place where guys can become legit "professional wrestlers" and earn damn good money at it.

I don't like pituitary ******s either and I'm not sure many do. Otherwise, Valuev would have a hefty fanbase.

Silva has always shown excellent powers of recovery and did early when tagged with a big right hand.

But working at AKA is obviously helping Cormier. He merely peppered Jeff Monson. Here, on short notice against a far more dangerous opponent (at this time) he decimated Big Foot.

The uppercut that finished it was savage, and showed that you don't necessarily have to be massive to compete with the giants.

Cormiers Olympic Wrestling Vs Barnetts Catch Wrestling is gonna' be an interesting battle :yep WAR BARNETT!!!!

But fair play to Cormier. Wasn't sold on him before, but he looked genuine top class last night, I imagine he fights to the level of his opponent.

Sensational, spectacular performance by Cormier! I only saw him once against Monson. He seemed like a good grinder, steady but unexciting. Miletich said from ringside that he would be more dangerous to Silva than the Reem would have been. Keep Pat Miletich as an analyst for all fights and Cormier vs Barnett is going to be a fight fans dream.
