Daniel "THE ROCK" Dawson vs Daniel Geale. Dawson will be stepping into the ring for a shot at the IBO Boxing world title on October 12th 2007 at the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Club In NSW. This will be the hardest fight for Daniel Dawson in his fight career so far! We are hoping he can win the title and bring back to W.A and become the first world Boxing Champ in this state! GO THE ROCK!!

your a deluded bunch.green has already achieved that title goose. he ko'd eric lucas for the world supermiddleweight interim title in montreal.it was the interim title until beyer officially announced his well documented supposed retirement.it is the same wbc title kostya won against hurtado. lucas was former champ before losing it contraversially to beyer before green destroyed him and got dq'd.he was a big name in u.s. boxing and green belted him for the world title, just the wbc put that silly interim word on it.so dawson will never be the first champ in perth! greens done it already

Honestly i hate how title fights like this get called "world title".
Just make this for the Aussie title.

Tszyu wasn't WBC champion until he beat Gonzalez. He did. Similarly Green wasn't champion til he beat Beyer. He didn't.

He was right, he was meant to fight gonzalez, then it was called off, or gonzalez could not fight, so he fought hurtados for the interim belt.

simple answer is both as recognised in official records as world champions.... end of story.

Dawson may become 2nd world champion out of Perth- I believe he will if his head is write.

Man,if Dawson catches Geale flush it's over.

I dont think Geale can Hurt Dawson...

Dawson is stronger. Geale is has the edge in height and speed.

But Dawson is a big puncher and has a good chin. I see him, being the aggressor.

Geale chin will be tested and Dawson will catch him if he does. Dawson KO.

I don't rate Geale as highly as many on this sight but I think that is partly because a lack of seeing a lot of his fights. Can someone do a compare and contrast of the style, strenghts and weaknesses

Geale is impressive and at a time he was certainly someone to get excited about.

But Ive said it before and Ill say it again, his combination of weakish chin, the realisation that its weakish and lack of killer instinct will never see him go all the way and fulfill his potential.
History has shown exceptionally talented and skilled guys like Geale fall by the wayside in every era, in every division.

Im not sure he can ever overcome that and Im not going against Dawson this time, The Rock via KO.

    Ill have a go Nrgetic.

    Geale
Daniel is a stand up boxer with a good amateur pedigree. He still has some amateurish traits but against the right people there is nothing wrong with them. He keeps his hands high, untilizes a peek-a-boo defense of sorts. Very good offensive skills and good defensive skills, doesnt mix them all that well.

His strengths include his exceptional handspeed, his proficient skill level, decent power and a very good kit of punches.
Best punch from what Ive seen is his right uppercut.

As stated in the above post Geale has a questionable chin, having been dropped 4 times already against fairly mediocre opposition. Again the fact he knows he can be hurt and his tendency to just want to pick up points affects the way he boxes and he can be a little timid.

    Dawson
Daniel is a kickboxer by trade, you can kind of see that background in the way he holds himself in the ring and his stance. Have not seen him in about 6 fights so not sure how much that has changed. He is quite fluid but he does plant his feet a little heavy in the boxing matches Ive seen him in.

His strengths include his decent hand speed, exceptional power and proven chin. His career as a kickboxer shows how tough he is and that he can come back from being hurt, he is mentally conditioned to take pain. Knows what it takes to end a fight and take the fight out of a boxer.
His best punch is probably his right hand, overhand or straight take your pick but his left rip is pretty mean aswell.

Dan has struggled in the past against awkward and savvy boxers. His fight with Ian Mcleod, the early rounds of the Schaffa fight, his fight with Kinuthia and to an extent his fight with Clenshaw are proof of this. Tends to look for the one big shot a little to much and as stated before in doing this he can be outmanourved. Has shown he can run out of ideas when he cant use his feet and elbows but that was early in his career.

These guys have come from two completely different backgrounds and this is a boxer vs puncher kind of match.

In fact I see it as a puncher-boxer vs a boxer-puncher match, Dawson being the former because though he is mainly a puncher he does have quite good skills. And Geale is the latter because he is firstly a silky smooth boxer but he has also shown he can whack and end matters abruptly.

Cant wait for this. I should have went out but I got work the next morning, I think Ill just watch it on FOX.
