I read somewhere that in the 30's and 40's boxing was incredibly popular in the United States, lots of young men practiced boxing.

Nowadays in the United States practicing boxing isn't very popular. Our big sports over here are basketball, football and (collegiate) wrestling to a lesser extent.

In my opinion, training MMA is more popular than training boxing these days in the U.S. I can find a good MMA school in my area, but if I want to find a boxing gym, I need to drive about 2 hours away.

Countries like Great Britain, Cuba and Russia have much better amateur boxing programs than the USA amateur boxing program as well.

So-----these days it's harder to find high quality crop of HW boxers in the United States.

Simon Kean, but I don't think he's a bigger title threat...

Fun glass cannon. But yeah nowhere near a world title threat. Would be an interesting rebound opponent for Wilder before Fury III though.

They clearly haven't seen Demsey McKean fight. He's a KO waiting to happen once he steps up. Doesn't take a punch well and doesn't really use his size vry well either.

Dubois fought a complete bum the other night.
Hrgovic is lined up to face the worst opponent of his career next time out.
If these guys are leading the way ......
..... let's hope not too many are following them.

The lack of a live gate due to covid-19 has hurt many up and comers. To make fights cost money. Dubois appears to be a good British prospect. Hrgovic is the real deal. Both are better than the opponents in world title fights.
