No. He is very slow and has no defense. Magomed Omarov KTFOed him with a single punch in the amateurs, so his chin might be questionable as well. Surely, he has power, size and killer instinct, so he can be dangerous opponent for many heavies. But I'm sure that Povetkin even 1 year from now would take him out quickly - the skills difference between Povetkin and Makhmodov is ridiculous

Yeah that's a heavy knockdown. However he's eaten a lot of big shots in the amateurs, WSOB without issue. So while I won't put him on total glass jaw watch he's definitely a bit more suspect. I still rate him highly as a prospect due to his size and power. Good find though. Thanks for sharing.

He's no speed demon, but he's no slower than someone like Vitali, and like Vitali he has a good command of the ring which allows him to trap fighters and unload his punches on them. His chopping right is also surprisingly sneaky and has caught out a few fighters now (granted his level of competition hasn't been great thus far). His jab could use some work.

Regarding his chin, one TKO (hardly a KTFO) doesn't equate to shaky whiskers. He took a ton of shots off Nistor, who's a beast of a puncher, and has also never been dropped outside of that (correct me if I'm wrong).

It was a good shot and a rightful stoppage under amateur rules, but hardly evidence of a glass jaw. His fight against Nistor was a war in which both men took some heavy shots and it was Nistor in the end who went down. Makhmudov has also matured physically since then, so I wouldn't be too concerned unless he gets rocked or dropped by a non puncher in the pros. And he seems fairly defensively sound from what I can see, not a face first brawler like Joyce, so his chin is unlikely to come under sustained abuse.
