I get where you're coming from but by the same token I don't like seeing a young kid getting ripped to **** for ''quitting'' in a fight where he sustained a broken orbital socket that could spell the end of his career before it's really got off the ground. Even if it was just a swollen eye I wouldn't hold it against him because it was a big fight and a very high stress situation and sometimes people just get overwhelmed by the mental pressure and it doesn't make them cowards.

Why would you say I wouldn't. I wasnt a talented physical beast when I did boxing, but I was stopped and fought my heart out.

I'm actually ashamed at the lack of will alot of people have on here. They make too many excuses for high levelboxers. Boxers are 5x tougher than your average man, because they have trained to be an need to be.
There is a reason why the ring hero's of old are so respected!

He's not a coward but he quit. Quitting doesn't make someone a coward. He is an extremely tough man just to get in and fight at top level anyman who gets in there is, he should of gone out on his shield though, it would have been good for him.

Pressure can definitely turn a young lion into a coward,

Dubois probably never thought it would happen to him but he was looking pretty scared for a long time before he actually quit.

FFS the 1st jab that landed shocked him IMO,

Joyce hit much harder than he ever expected

I respect all fighters, every single one of them past and present regardless.

And i do not doubt you in what you say regarding yourself, i can believe it and respect is extended to you for it.

Fighters today are different from fighters of yesterday sadly.

I think yes, he quit, but it wasn’t without a devastating eye injury.

Just so we can get a consistent barometer, did guys like Kell Brook and AJ also quit? Did Angulo quit?

We can argue about if quitting is as bad as fans say it is. Imho it is not. Quitting is the right move in a lot of situations, imho.

But arguing about if he quit or not, that's stupid level of stupidity.

It’s an one of the unfortunate parts of the sport where you are for some reason, only allowed to go out on your shield, even if that means permanent damage to your health or career.

    Its ******ed.

His eye got fractured from a jab?

    I mean gotta be kidding.

Margarito eye got cracked because Pacquiao is known to break noses and he got him with a big uppercut.Inoue. Donaire is a bone crusher. He broke Mathebulas jaw, put a dint in Montiel's cheek bone, broke Barnette hip. This guy broke his with a jab? WOW.

If he fractured it, why no blood? Noticed Margarito and Inoue case blood was coming out of that damage socket. I am not calling Dubois a liar.

But this seems like damage control?

Hindsight, he’s only got a few seconds to make a decision on whether to quit or carry on.

did he make the right one? Only time will tell.

my opinion, long term probably, short term probably not.
