P4P, Donaire is a harder hitter than DDD and Inoue is fighting at 118. It's all relative and scaled.

David Price said he broke one of his sparring partner's orbital sockets in the gym a few years ago and that said sparring partner was throwing up in toilet afterwards and told him he'd never felt pain like it in his life

Doesn’t matter. Quitting is against the code of Boxing. Always has been always will be.

Can we have David Price doing commentary for Sky or BT Sport or something because I always enjoy listening to his analysis. A vote for Peter Fury and Sugar Hill too albeit Showtime or PBC for the later. Most commentators are gash so why not hire some people who are actually good at it and not insufferably irritating?

I never label somebody a quitter when it comes to an eye. Anybody who has ever had an eye damaged knows about the panic that comes over you when it happens. Give the guy a break

It's funny because everyone screams "Wow what a warrior" when a fighter keeps fighting with a terrible cut which sure it looks bad and bleeds but normally ends up being superficial. If Dubious survived with that bad eye nobody would have said a thing even though it's a much worse injury.

Eye injuries are pretty much the second worst thing next to brain injuries in boxing, even though you accept you are suffering damage every time you get hit in the head.

We could find out in a few days that Dubious's career is over because he has a permanent eye injury...you never know.

It can happen, nobody would call him a quitter then would they?

He quit but is he a "quitter"...not necessarily.

People can quit in a fight without the fight stopping, which happens often. They give up the ghost and just "survive" but they don't get called a quitter.

Everyone in their mind likes to think "I'd never quit" but you will never know unless you're in that position.

You can see Dubious thinking it over: do I want to risk going blind in one eye?

...No was the answer. It's the same answer that many would give.

Dubois fought his heart out for 8 rounds after his eye being damaged initially...he was leading by a point...he wouldve had brook and gary masons career ending injury on his mind...no hes not a quitter...yes he should sack all his corner for not protecting him...and where the ffk was the ring doctor to stop it...this was a horrific injury worse than eubanks-thompson...yes the way he called time looks bad...but it shouldve never gone to that stage...if Only seconds earlier his corner pulled him out....we'd all be talking a rematch....now his image is unfairly sullied

As for pacheco what a hypocrite pos he was...so disrespectful to fighters

True...but its far worse for Heavyweights punching on an already badly damaged eye than welterweights..

Stupidity. All these comments bashing Dubois are just abysmal. that injury wasnt some random ass cut. That injury was getting targeted by joyce and if the fight kept going for 1 more round Dubois's eye may have received ungodly damage. Enough to ruin the rest of his carrer. He quit but he's not a quitter. it was for the greater good. He may not have lots of heart but he's young. He can change. This is why i ****ing hate boxing fans. Once a fighter gets beat fans will hate them and stop supporting them. They did it with Lewis, they did it with Joshua, they did it with Cooney and so many other boxers

Dubious needs to get slicker if he wants to keep fighting with that low lead hand.

Or switch southpaw to save his eye

It always makes me think of Abraham vs Miranda 1 with the broken jaw and blood pouring out of his mouth at the halfway point. For him to go on, Madness!

U mean do what gary mason did in that final blind charge of insane bravery vs lewis in 1991?....he couldve but he wouldve ended up with his career ended prematurely exactly like gary....but boxers arent allowed to be smart. ...and keyboard warriors and trolls (not aimed at you in any waymate,) whove never been in the ring will scream quitter ......

I see your point but equally dubois was winning a close fight just like brook was vs spence and we all saw how that went when brook fought om handicapped blind......i think dubois cold clinical decision to stop fighting was smart....but his corner ought to be pistol whipped

yes. but he made the decision that others before him in similar situations have also made, and he is going to be measured next to them, not next to keyboard warriors. what is smart, what he is possibly preventing, whatever we dont know, doesnt matter. what matters is that of the 2 roads available, he took the one that makes him who he is, while others took the one that made them who they are. so all we are really left with, regardless of how fans feel about it, is that he is not one of them...and people love "them".
