He hurt his knee and that's why he took 2 knees later. Not 3 proper knockdowns. He played it smart to recover since there was no 3 kd rule, and knew he could probably finish it soon when he recovered. I'd say it just shows boxing IQ > "HE PACKING GLASS!!"
He took a shot to the top of the mind and it completely discombobulatized him and he also suffered a leg injury while his mind was in that discombobulated state. He went down voluntarily for the second 2 KD either because his mind was still discombobulatized or because his leg gave out on him. Maybe the second time he touched down might have been because he was still suffering the effects of mind discombobulation but the third time looked more like it was due to his leg giving out on him to me. Thing is he actually started moving well in round 2 and 3 and the leg didn't seem too bad. The bell ringing 9 or 10 seconds early at the end of round 1 was dodgy as hell and Howard Foster waving it off at the bell at the end of round 3 and not even giving Lerena a chance to go back to his corner was highly suspect too.
I can't wait to laugh my ass off at some of these glass jaw deniers and Dubois fanboys when his fragile mandible gets shattered into a million pieces. As soon as they put him with top level HWs, he gets annihilated.
Agreed here, sir. I would add that his expression is one of trying to force a giant turd out in an open echoing space full of people who are sitting there with decibel meters.
Lerena has grounds to legally challenge given the wba sanctioning body three knockdown rule should've been in play and he had 12 seconds taken off him in round one when Dubois was essentially helpless. Blatant cheating, not to mention the stoppage after the bell.
Not a glass jaw but like Wlad he freaks out when he gets hurt. He isn't a top level guy. Good but not top.
I don’t think he has a glass jaw. I’m guessing he has a mediocre jaw and should avoid big punchers with good timing. With that said, Browne might have caught Dubois cold. I still would never bet on it, though.
Down 3 times against a second rate heavyweight is just not good, and that bell ringing 9 seconds before the round ended. And the ending was an English stoppage. Dubois just did not look good
Exactly. This guy can't even take the shots of mediocre cruisers. Top level heavies will annihilate him. The only thing that will delay Dubious's brutal canvas nap is careful matchmaking. Like with Wilder, however, this only puts off the inevitable glass jaw shattering!
