Nothing wrong with Dubois chin. Hrgovic is hard puncher, always was. But i can't praise Dubois as he landed prolly 30 headbutts. Pathetic dirty a*****. All this dirtt tactics learn by that POS don Charles. He should have been DQ., but BBBOC and brought referee.
How did Lerena drop Dubois 3 times but Hrgovic hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and not go down. It seems the Lerena fight was an aberration, either that or Hrgovic's power has been wildly overrated.
As the fight with Joshua approaches, it's worth remembering the demonstrated fragility of Dubois' mandible
I've watched all of Dubois fights and I think it's grossly unfair to say he has a glass jaw. As long ago as the Lartey and Gorman fights he got into unwise firefights with guys he could outbox and took flush shots when he didn't have to. Even against Joyce he showed a very good chin and conversely to what many claim, a lot of bottle. He took Miller and Hrgovic's best shots and stopped them both. I think he has a very naive boxing brain. I think he genuinely thought he'd stopped Usyk and when that happens the adrenalin dump and relief must have been huge, to suddenly have to get your head back into such a dangerous game must be almost impossible, so yeah, you could say he was mentally beat from that moment and lost his resilience. I suspect he may have been mentally weak, not physically at times but he is maturing. AJ would be shouting from the rooftops if he had Dubois last two victorys!!
^This^ The fights with Miller and Hrgo showed DD can take a good punch. Also, DD quit because a broken face against JJ. DD might not have high ring IQ and at times be mentally weak but it’s nothing wrong with his chin.
Dubois is a glass jawed stiff and the recent hype over him proves how short the memory of the average boxing fan is. AJ stops him early and brutally.
It is entirely possible he gets starched by AJ, AJ is a BIG puncher. Have all the fighters AJ has stopped had 'glass jaws'?
The case for Dubois having a glass jaw: Usyk dropped and stopped him with a jab Lerena dropped him three times. To be fair, he voluntarily took a knee for the 2nd and 3rd KDs after injuring his leg during the 1st KD when Lerena completely discombobulatized him with a side of the mind shot One thing which we have to factor in here is that both Usyk and Lerena were CW Level and we know that CW Level>>HW Level and Usyk's power is underrated and he has dropped or hurt every HW he's fought sans Chisora and even then he did actually hurt him a but with a combination at the end of round 7 or 8 He's allegedly been stopped in sparring numerous times (by Bakole and Hrgovic) The Defence: He took a lot of pops on the whiskers from Hrgovic and Miller caught him with quite a lot of shots too IIRC Hrgovic hits hard but I've been saying for years that he could and should be hitting a lot harder with the right strength training program and that he's a bit of an arm puncher. But Dubois still took a lot of pops on the whiskers from him in the early rounds, many in quick succession Miller is a huge unit but he's an accumulation guy and I don't consider him a big puncher Dubois took the knee against Big Joe Joyce due to injury We also have to factor in the only world class competition he's fought is Usyk, Big Joe, Hrgovic, Lerena and Miller if you consider Lerena and Miller world class that is Verdict: I don't think he has a glass jaw but side of the mind shots from CW Level fighters seem to discombobulatize him. In fact, the only legit KDs he's suffered came against CW Level fighters and I find that very interesting Let's not forget that Belly has been dropped by 2 different CW Level fighters AJ was hurt more than once by a CW Level fighter Bakole was stopped by a CW Level fighter Half the Ring Magazine's top 10 have been either dropped, stopped, or hurt by CW Level fighters Belly AJ Dubois Bakole Huni
