Daniel Dubois is listed as a 6 ft 5 in super heavyweight, but in the photo below Joe Joyce who is listed at 6 ft 6 in clearly has 3 inches on him. This is the era of the super heavyweight boxing champions, Dubois is touted as the next big thing in boxing partly because he is considered to be a super heavyweight, but if Dubois is the same height as Usyk maybe he will not fulfill expectations of him? Edit: Don't know how to attach an image. So here's the article (it's the first image). https://www.badlefthook.com/platfor...w-targeted-late-2020-closed-doors-boxing-news
Dubois doesn`t have a super heavyweight reach, he has the same reach Ali had and Hearns, Reach 78 in (198 cm)
Yes that also explains his fighting style. He throws good combinations to body and head. With a super heavyweight reach he probably wouldn't be able to throw those shots so fluently.
Dubois weight also supports the argument that he is not a super heavyweight. The first time I saw Dubois, at 6 ft 5 with the amount of mass he has in his upper body, I expected him to be at least 240 lbs. He's around 230 lbs if I'm not mistaken. I know Dubois is still very young so he'll fill out more and gain more weight/muscle, but he should still be at or above 240 lbs if he was really 6 ft 5 and carrying all that muscle.
He's been listed as 6ft 4, and most recently to 6ft 4 and a half. They've rounded Frank's pet Frankenstein to 6ft 5 to make him look scary.
Only mods can, and he's around 6'2 or 6'3, he's nowhere in the vicinity of 6'6. This content is protected
Im very suprised at the height difference, its quite big. I had it in my head they were nearly same size, maybe an inch in it
Same here, Joe Joyce's head is also much bigger than Dubois's head. Not only does Joyce have about a 3 inch height advantage, he is also 260+ pounds so is also much heavier than Dubois. We don't know whether Dubois's punches have one punch knockout power at the elite level, and with Joyce's big weight advantage he just might walk through Dubois or at least not be deterred by his power.
He's not standing straight in the pic, he's just about to give Joseph a good old shove. This content is protected
I think Joyce drills him. Dubois is a smaller super heavyweight. He looks to be about 6’4” tall with a 78” reach. Could be less than that. Skills seem above average. Power is his strong suit. My strong suspicion is his chin is average.
That makes more sense, thanks. I was a bit worried Dubois was too small for Joyce, now I can see that Dubois is legitimately 6 ft 5 inches. And I just learned Joyce is half Nigerian, on his mother's side. It seems the Nigerians have a few heavyweights in the mix for the top spot in the division.
Dubois is most likely 190 cm (6’3”), since Joyce is 193 cm (6’4”). Here is a piece on Joyce before he turned pro. He is 108kg (17 stone) and 193cm (6foot4) tall. He is a world-class super-heavyweight boxer. He recently won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Yet what makes Joe Joyce from the United Kingdom so remarkable has nothing to do with his size or boxing ability. In fact, it’s probably the last thing you might automatically attribute to a world-class heavyweight boxer. https://medium.com/@petermandeno/th...f-it-requires-your-dancing-shoes-20f2e9ba4f52
