Late to the party as usual, i just watched all the youtube stuff on Dubois and i was impressed. Not claiming that he will be the unified champ or anything, just thinking he has the potential to develop into a contender if things work out, imo. What about you guys?? Interesting prospect to watch with a chance or a soon to be over hyped bust? I know CST has called him garbage, lol, what about the rest of you fellas??
Looks like he has a Glass Jaw, also has the intelligence and personality of wooden box. Would probably beat Wilder though.
I don't know. He's very young and skipped the amateur ranks to become pro. You don't see that many young heavies, and when was the last time we had a successful heavyweight without any amateur prodigy? He'd probably need time to mature as a pro, both physically and mentally. I don't know if they will take that time, I've already heard his name up there with names that suggest otherwise.
But with the right management I'm sure he can get in position for a title fight, but that's considering you don't need much of a resume for such a shot. He's British and a KO-artist (so far).
Kinda reminds me to a mix between Seth Mitchell and Travis Walker in style/power. Hope his chin is better than Mitchell's tho.
Its a bit of a myth about Dubois not having an amateur career. He claims to have an amateur record of 69-6, winning the english schoolboy title twice, two junior aba titles, CYP's and british seniors titles, he was part of the GB development squad and was tipped for Tokyo in 2020.
He's still only a baby but he already looks more promising than a lot of the older HW prospects out there.
The best young talent out there. But probably should have stayed in the amateurs & gone for gold in Tokyo. B/c he's so young, they'll be overly cautious matching him as a pro & that may hinder his development. If he'd stayed in the amateurs, he would have mixed with the best there is & that would have helped him in the long run even if he'd taken a few losses along the way. But we'll see. My favourite Daniel Dubois quote: "Yeah, it happened".
But he lack any real international experience in the senior ranks. He lacks any medal from top level senior competitions. The experience he'd gain there, maybe loosing a fight or two in the process, he can not make up for as a pro. He will only face underdogs until the day he is supposed to be ready for the top. That is what I mean with not having amateur experience, not that he's some NFL reject.
Has he already been hurt?! Looks like another Frank Bruno then, he got hurt in one of his early fights by some bum called Jumbo Cummings!
His offense seems better taught than Bruno`s, I always felt Frank winged it a bit and his 1-2`s (that weren`t thrown enough) were telegraphed most times because the two came to slowly after the one, think Daniel`s better at that already.
