Daniel Dubois is underrated

certainly and i wouldnt want to be hit by either guy, but my opinion is they both struggled to control a fight behind the jab. their mechanics for throwing the punch are excellent but they didnt use it at the right time or in the right way

 

Speaking of Dubois and a jab controlling a fight, Usyk's jabbing against Dubois was just... chef's kiss. The smaller weaker guy with the shorter reach absolutely dismantled the big offensive juggernaut with that jab. In the second fight, nearly every time Dubois would try to jab or close in, Usyk would land a beauty of an upward spear jab right on the chin. It made Dubois throw out whatever fight plan he had real quick.

 

Well, with the two of them, the "don't blink" factor is definitely there. The fight could be a classic, or could be over in 30 seconds. Either guy lands a perfect power shot right on the button as the other guy is closing in and didn't see it coming, the fight is probably over.

 

The most intriguing one out there by a mile for sure

 

He's going to beat up Dubois

 

If Dubois isn't in a fight competing at the very least, he checks out

People say things like who has this person beaten all the time. Many resumes can be picked apart, and several top 10 HWs you could say the same about, but it can also be how dominant they are when not being beaten.
I recall it being said when Fury beat Wilder.

Once again, I am not sure you have followed what I wrote when saying about fights at the time they were had and gave Lewis/Mason as an example, but probably closer to Fury/Chisora when they first fought.
Dubois and Gorman were both upcoming, undefeated prospects. It was a risky British title fight for both, where either could have decided not to take, so a good win at that stage in his career.
Yes Dubois lost to Usyk. So have other good HWs.
Sure he lost to Joyce, but credit for a 22 year old taking such a challenging fight, and further credit for bouncing back to become a world title holder.

I've already made my point abundantly clear. Dubios is overrated.

Miller is a drug cheat who couldn't beat a washed Ruiz. Gorman and Bryan are non-factors in the heavyweight division. The fact you have to mention them plus three losses only reinforces my point that he is massively overrated and doesn't deserve another title shot.

I didn't "duck" your question. The premise of your question is disingenuous, as it implies Dubios has had a successful "tough run". He hasn't.

 

Dubois skill set and jab are definitely underrated. My problem is that he’s taken a knee SEVEN times in his career. That’s criminal from a ‘world champion’. If Wardley can take a few big shots on route, he’ll take Dubois heart.

 

All credit to Dubois for being willing to fight anyone. Honestly, if I were his manager, I would nope the hell out of a Wardley fight after Usyk crushing him like that. I'd want to feed him a couple easy back to back KO's to get his confidence back before putting him in with another hungry lion. Instead, Dubois wanted the smoke. Good on him.

 

I think Wardley is too nice of a guy to do it, but there's a way for him to mess with Dubois's head prior to the fight. Dubois is a gifted athlete who took up boxing. Wardley is a ****ing gladiator born for this ****. Everybody knows the difference between the two. Including Dubois. There's a way to get that into his head.
