Dubious Daniel Dubois has been knocked down 6 times in his career. How many of those has he gone to one knee? Unbelievably all six...
I dont think there is much left for him, imo made a lot of money for what he did. might be best if he retired, not because he loses, its because he quite easily quits.
I don't want to be overly harsh on Dubois. We would need to get the VAR goal line technology to check how close that punch was to the belly button. Against Joyce he had a fractured orbital bone.. what % of warriors are going to fight through that, especially at heavyweight? Against Usyk he was struggling with the pace as the fight wore on as many predicted. He's not going to come up against anyone like that again. I don't think he has been matched well since the Gorman fight - Joyce and Usyk both happened too early. At 25 and from what I've seen he's got a lot of room for improvement.
Dave Allen has said he believes the shot was illegal as well. Good luck to Dave for his fight against Fraser Clarke. He’s a top bloke.
Wth his age and how easy he is to beat he'll not be retiring any time soon. There's far too many big pay days to be made from good fighters wanting 'a name' and easy pay day. I could see Warren have him agianst Fury next if the Usyk fight doesn't happen.
That would certainly be a novel way of giving DDD a "second chance" instead of a rematch and something Frank could control if Top Rank doesn't have any better ideas. And another easy winter tick-over for Fury.
Yeh i know he won't but i dont think he has a viable career and lose everytime he steps up and probably quit
There's always this notice from the fans that you either get to be the best in the division or if you can't you should just give up. That's nonsense. Dubois has done the hard part. He's a name now. Now it's about letting the easy pay days roll in and milk his limited ability for all it's worth. I'd imagine his pay day for each of his next 5 fights will be enough to buy a house each time.
WBA statement: Dubois hit Usyk with a low blow The World Boxing Association (WBA) after the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois published an official statement, reacting to the victory of the Ukrainian boxer. “There was a dramatic moment in the fight when Dubois delivered a low blow, from which Usyk fell to the canvas. The area he hit sparked controversy about the legality of the hit, but the referee ruled that the hit had landed below the belt and gave Usyk the necessary recovery time to continue the fight...,” the statement reads. Thus, the organization recognizes that Dubois landed an illegal blow in the fifth round and the referee of the fight did the right thing, giving Usyk time to recover.
You can go back to when journeyman cruiser Lartey rocked Dubois for evidence of his mandible fragility. He can blast out guys with slow feet and low resistance but he ran out of ideas quickly against elusive e!ite boxer Usyk. The quit was on as he soon as he went down in round 8. Saved by the bell and it was over quickly after that. Joshua certainly showed a lot more in his two Usyk losses.
