No Joyce was always in control, Dubois could only fight in bursts.

Will he learn or stagnate though? It`s obvious his corner is useless, he needs the Lewis-Wlad-Steward treatment.

Let’s hope he is not permanently ruined by what happened.

I think he will improve and come back stronger. He might never reach elite level but I'm confident he will at least be a decent contender.

Joyce wasn't necessarily controlling Dubois with his jab as in he didn't back him up most of the fight like Klitschko did to Haye, he just jabbed him at long range going forward or backwards. It obviously troubled Dubois but he got past the jab and let his hands go in spots. Maybe Joyces jab did keep him at bay but it was likely because Dubois just wasn't confident enough to take it to him, which allowed joyce to jab him even more.

Almost every time Dubois let his hands go Joyce either moved away or clinched, its not like Joyce jabbed Dubois away when Dubois tried to get in range

Joyce is more skilled than Dubois, DD didn`t even move his head when the jab came, he looked like he was in a trance.

Lol @ WBA no.2 This is what's wrong with boxing, and why people didn't slag off the GGG - Szeremeta fight as much as they should have.

Obviously im just saying. Joyce didn't jab dubois away when he tried to move in range, he jabbed him when he was out of range. Dubois imo should have been a hell of a lot more agressive

GGG desearves a title shot more that Joyce because he hasn`t recently been exposed, Dubois is nowhdere near GGG`s level.

No I mean how is Bogdan Dinu ranked number 2 in the first place? On the back of what? These sanctioning bodies need to get their sh it together but they won't.

They also had kept in ranking so long unusual time long ago inactive before covid era Charr.;)
Also had been mentioned somewhere that Charr was ahead:bump on all cards before he had been KOed by Briedis.

    WBA is cool :ibutt.

It is a very good choice of opponent for Dubois.

    Good matchmaking going on...

He doesnt possess the power or the workrate to put it on Dubois, and he quits when someone puts it on him.

Should a good 4-5 rounds in the tank for Dubois, before Dubois brutally stops him. Dubois has seriously concusive power- lets hope he can mature into a man and become a great HW.

The WBA trinket on the line is a farce.

A sensible opponent for a comeback fight.

Dinu has a reasonable skillset (though lacking in power) but doesn't seem to have the heart of a fighter. Comes unglued at the first real sign of adversity in a fight. Lots of HWs - even less skilled ones - could have finished the Pulev fight after opening that big cut.

Dinu might take a knee to spare himself before Dubois lands the big one. Bit of a "Malik Scott stink" on this guy...

Easier said than done. There was a reason why Dubois wasn't being more aggressive, you have to be in position to throw and Joyce moved well enough to ensure Dubois wasn't often in a position to throw. One of Joyce's most underrated attributes is his movement.

Dubois did spent too much time on the outside but this wasn't out of choice this was because Joyce combination of movement and jab kept him on the outside. It pointless rushing in and throwing if you are not in a position to land, that would of simply exposed Dubois to a counter and probably seen him eat far more shots and get stopped.

Dubois right now is not on Joyce's level. He needs to work on a ton of things before he can compete with Joyce because Joyce won that fight without even getting out of first gear.

I have been saying for a very long time that Dubois has nothing exceptional about him at all, and the Joyce fight proved it. Now, he will be gun shy. Dinu could win this if he comes to fight, but he doesn't come to fight.

I sense a stinker in which Dubois gets a lackluster, perhaps slightly smelly decision with a lot or rounds that can't be properly scored because no one was paying attention, but the upset would not surprise me.
