Daniel Dubois still hasn’t been paid by Don King.

What amazes me is how he is still alive. Guys like Arum and King live till they are 100 for some reason and continue in the sport.

Why any boxer would sign with them is beyond me.

 

Promoters live long lives by siphoning off the life force of their clients. It's a standard clause in all contracts that they make their fighters sign

 

At the end of the day, DuBois picked up a likely shot at the WBA Super title by facing...Trevor Bryan. If anything, Warren & DuBois should be paying Don King for orchestrating that.

 

Nice to see King hasn't lost his touch.

Frank Warren would have been aware more than most about how scummy Don King was but he still allowed it to happen....

 

I care alot if a lousy boxer is getting paid or not. What has he done to deserve any funds? Boxed a little bit? Oh wow.

Calls himself a king but don't pay the ransom!! Anyone who deals with and trusts this guy needs head checking. Surely 8n the land of the law suit Dubois can sue his ass for non payment?

Why did these atgs flock to Don King? Perhaps because he was the most skilled and efficient fellow on the block?

All these innocent boxers that punch other people for a living getting ripped off by this evil individual? If they were silly enough to get taken advantage of then that's their fault.

 

That is a rationale for excusing serial criminals.
They would have put food on their table with someone else-& some would not cheat & lie to them.
King was the biggest guy around, fame & influence go a long way.
Most skilled at making a big fight-sometimes.
That is very different from skilled or willing to get fair compensation for his stable-or not rob them blind.

Yes they are innocent: punching people for a living, you actually look DOWN on those that have the courage & honor to fight within the rules, work hard, entertain us, live out there dreams.

How can you have such hatred & contempt for fighters?
Why even follow boxing if you have such irrational disdain for those that put on the actual sport?

Lastly, blaming the victim & calling them "silly" because a criminal predator was able to take advantage of them is Monstrous.

Please rethink your basic philosophy about these things.
If you started a thread about & justifying your disdainful beliefs & justification of stealing & harming boxers...

This is old news. Dubois was paid, but his people and King had a dispute over the difference he was owed after King covered his sanctioning fees and taxes, which resulted in Dubois filing a lawsuit. Dubois and his team reached a settlement with King.

Dubois sued Don King Productions earlier this month, alleging that he had not been paid for his victory over Trevor Bryan in June.

It seemed a messy legal battle lay ahead but on Monday, King sent Dubois $319,561 (around £270,000) via his legal team.

A further payment of $134,700 (£114,000) was due yesterday. Dubois' legal team confirmed the money was received last night. Earlier the heavyweight's lawyer, Leon Margules, had told Sportsmail: ‘That will close it up, then I will dismiss the case.’

Dubois still got shafted then, his split of the purse bid should of been $1.4 million.

Don still got it, the ability to screw fighters over even at this advanced age.

 

Actually, it was King that got shafted on the purse splits by Warren and the WBA.

Why the hell should DDD get paid? Don King already gave him a belt for free.
