Even with those circumstances, they are all better than Dubois’ wins. A lot of people seem to forget Whyte’s win over Robert Helenius, it’s very underrated. Dubois’ best win is a British level Nathan Gorman.
An interesting one. Almost a 50-50 for me. But I think Whyte has the better resume and a skillset. His experience at the top level will pull him through.
If DDD can't get him out of there sometime during the fight then he should be consigned to gate keeper status himself.. Whyte is probs the biggest Matchroom superhero promoted fighter even more so than AJ. Without Matchroom he would be like local journey man only getting a break because of his "win" over AJ in the amatures.. Hearn knew he could make a story out of it and has kept pushing him since giving him gift decisions and stacking the deck in his favour in every fight.. We saw the real Whyte last fight and TBH he was pretty ****..
I cannot see Whyte fighting anyone with a pulse until Hearn sticks him in with AJ, to be flattened (in a stadium fight). No way does Dubois get a chance to destroy him before AJ does. It’s important for Hearn to get the final milk from the AJ cow and that means the rematch must still appear as relevant to the casuals. If Whyte is coming off being smashed to smithereens in 4 rounds by Dubois then it isn’t going to look like a relevant rematch. Whyte at this point is getting flattened by anyone who can punch and is a live dog and that includes Dubois. Whyte won’t even be able to take Dubois’ jab. This link looks like a massive time waste by Hearn.
Hearn has said that he and AJ want Whyte next or the one after so no way this fight gets made. They’ll pay him some money to keep him away from Dubois.
Whyte is ten years older than Dubois. Of course he's going to have better wins. Whyte had beaten absolutely nobody at the age Dubois is now.
Whyte has no contract with Matchroom as I recall. He's had his big stadium fight chance and blew it, Eddie talked him into years of expensive legal battles with the WBC which Matchroom presumably didn't pay for, and Whyte always thought a lot of his own abilities. Why should he give Matchroom anything?
Lot of people forget that DDD was up on the cards against Joyce when it was stopped. I don’t see Whyte being able to bring anything like the pressure Joyce did. Fight won’t happen, but easy night for Dubois if it ever does.
It's not about him giving Matchroom anything, it's what they can give him ! A fight against AJ (even now) on DAZN earns him far more than any other realistic fight he can take on any other network. Absolutely no point in Whyte taking anything like a remotely dangerous fight beforehand. Matchroom were paying him handsomely for some pretty straight forward fights so they kind of did pay any legal fees.
You seem very certain - have you heard this from somebody credible or is it just an opinion? My understanding from somebody who is reliable is that the fight is done and there just working out the finer details, but let’s see what happens
