For a 19 year old heavyweight who isn't even fully grown yet & has had limitied amatuer experience, the level of opposition he has fought so far isn't too bad.
apart from Howe, its been poor. Menduo a Cruiser who managed to rock him and an argentinian LHW are bad imo
The LHW was a last minute stand in, to be fair. Though I can't imagine there wasn't a Brit HW in the country who would have taken it. I'm not sure AJ Carter is a step up in anyway really, but he's fighting for a Southern Area Title so will then I guess build toward the English. I'm okay with that kind of progression at 19 to be honest. I wish Frank would settle down with some of the hype though because people will lose their patience pretty quickly.
yeah i suppose thats true. i like fighters going down area, english, british, etc route and for his age and number of fights, this is a decent fight, but i feel the same as you, the hype needs to chill a bit.
Dubois' level of opposition hasn't been terrible for someone this early on in this career, but I don't think Carter presents him with any kind of challenge. As soon as Dubois lands any sort of punch (even a jab), the fight is pretty much over already, Carter really can't take punches.
Carter is the only person to lose to Larry Olubamiwo in 19 fights. Hardly an achievement to be proud of.
He's so young with little amateur background he needs some fights to find his feet/find his best style and Carter is one of these. I like the look of him but he's got a long way to go.
