The problem with Thomas Fury is, as hot as he is, he's a total bum in boxing and pillow fisted aswell. So probably best decision of his life to stay where he is....because in a boxing ring he's getting his ass kicked soon once he steps up from BUM OPPOSITION to LESS BUM OPPOSITION.

At the moment he is as that's where he's at but I'm guessing you mean that will always be his level?
Frank Warren does have a reputation for someone who knows how to bring fighters on,favours the long game as oppose to throwing em in early.
I must be the only guy not wanting Joyce v Dubois as I don't want either to lose.

I definitely had Gorman as a top heavyweight prospect. I don't know about you guys, but I judge prospects a lot on potential, not absolute ability. Sure, when you compare to guys like Joyce who are 10 years older with Olympic experience, sure, Gorman didn't look amazing, but he was young and green, just like Dubois.

And, for the record, Gorman is listed as having a 73" reach, compared to Andy Ruiz's 74".

    Good call.

To be honest, out of the handful of fights I have seen of his the Turner one is the only one where he actually looked impressive and to be fair he looked class in that one. However, he looked pedestrian in the others IIRC.

Gorman wasn't an amateur star. He had mediocre at best power and a 73" reach. While he had decent hand speed and could box, he's not cut out for the modern heavyweight division, hence was never a top prospect in my eyes.

Joyce is what he is. Jennings is a decent top 25-35 type. Joyce had enough to win, but did not look good doing it from what I've read here.
You could say he's now a top 25 heavyweight. I think Joyce is meat vs an accurate power hitter, but he's going to be fun to watch win, lose or draw.

Further to this, I've just seen on IG that Kugan was interviewing both Haye and Fury together. Looks like there is no beef there at all. Look forward to seeing that IFL vid, maybe will shed some light @305th .

Lol Andy Ruiz is shorter than Gorman wasn't a amateur star and has a 74 inch reach and is only 6'0 tall. He just beat 6'5 1/2 250 pound juiced Anthony Joshua. So I guess Andy Ruiz isn't cut out to be in the modern heavyweight division either then right?

Yes, but Ruiz jr can punch and has a good chin. If you have both, and an aggressive forward moving style, you can go far at heavyweight. Gorman can't punch hard and has an average chin in addon to a short reach. Ruiz jr had 2 out of 3. Gorman is 0-3. Neither guy is Chris Byrd on defense or has a ranged jab.

To be honest I feel Ruiz jr had a chance to make a good showing vs Joshua.

I'd hold off on Ruiz Jr for a while. Yes he exposed Joshua, but hasn't show a lot outside of doing this. Ruiz jr just had the right style and pair of b@lls to make the fight, which is what Parker lacked.

Truth be told the entire top four at heavyweight is very shaky. Ruiz jr needs to show he's not a one fight wonder. Wilder is KO waiting to happen and can't box. We saw what happened to Joshua. Fury could be the best for now, but I think he's in trouble vs a skilled aggressive fighter who can punch and he was on juice.

The up and comers are a better group, I think.

Right then what does reach have to do with anything then? Why even bring it up? Also Ruiz can punch now? Him knocking out Joshua proves how bad his chin is. It doesn't make Ruiz a puncher. Also Ruiz was knocked down and hurt badly by Joshua. If Anthony took his time he would of stopped him.

The up and comers are better? You mean Joe Joyce who struggled against a beat up Bryant Jennings and should of lost or do you mean Daniel Dubois beating fat Nathan Gorman? The heavyweight division is horrible and isn't going to get better any time soon.

Wilder would most likely send Joyce’s head through the roof of whatever arena they were fighting in, and I wouldn’t rule something similar from Whyte, Joshua, Rivas or Ruiz- maybe even 40 year old Ortiz. His defense is just unacceptable at the top level, his chin’s pretty good but that doesn’t matter so much when you’re letting you guys hit you flush with fully loaded up punches.

Dubois better than I thought, I was really impressed tonight. Gorman looked nearly helpless in there against him. Young as he is, I think Dubois’ jab is probably already amongst the best in the division, and the key to his success.

Ruiz jr proved his chin by getting hit and getting up vs Joshua. Joshua is a big time punter. And Ruiz jr has been in more fight than Gorman. Can we check that box as to ho has the better chin between the two?

Yes, Ruiz Jr has some power. Clearly more than Gorman? Can we check that box now?

I did not say which up and comers are better, but Joyce and Dubois are NOT on my top 4 list.

    They are

    Hrgovic
    Ajagba
    Makhmudov
    Jalolov

Any of the above four would destroy Gorman too.

Why are these four top prospects?

    1 ) They are big.
2 ) They can all punch
3 ) Some have proven chins in the amatuers.
4 ) 3 of the 4 have very good skills, the other hits so hard and take a good punch that it might not matter for him.

For the 5th spot, maybe Dychko, Vianello, Dubois, or Joyce

When I looked at Wilder and Fury on the way up as prospects, they were behind in natural abilities in comparison to the top 4 I mentioned. Joshua looked he was going to be one of the champions. The question was just how good. On Frank Burno's level I think is what he has shown.
