Didn't have an inkling of a jab, any semblance of defense, would somehow manage to duck into punches from fighters much shorter than him, and fell halfway to the floor when attempting an uppercut.

True, but can’t you say the same thing for pretty much every Baer opponent not named Galento or Carnera? They’ve all probably had a significantly greater skillset and arsenal than he did, and that rarely stopped the outcome. For all of Baer’s flaws, he did have everything a brawler could dream for with power, chin, stamina and explosively. I also think Baer’s speed gets quite overlooked, and this is a dangerous combination for someone who gets hit in exchanges as much as Dubois does. Dubois is also not exactly a speedster himself, and his chin has been cracked by lesser punchers like Lerena, so the odds that Baer just gets to him before the opposite happens is very high.

I would be unsurprised if Baer KO’d Daniel. I think a lot of Max Baers bad reputation has come from people who’ve barely watched him.
Those opinions have been repeated by the guys who read more then they watch or understand.
He wasn’t a “boxer” but he was heavyweight champion and did it with the style he formed by fighting.
Sometimes a guy doesn’t begin with the best boxing education so when he gets to a higher level they enhance what he’s got - what made him successful that is instead of rebuilding him and making him novice in a new style.
it’s a business - time is of the essence he needs to fight regularly and make money Max wouldn’t want to “restart” so to speak when he’s doing so well and getting wealthy.
Eddie Futch did not start again with Joe Frazier he was winning, young and stubborn he added what he could but he was hardly representative of the limit of Futches knowledge.

I'll go with this as an answer on this fight.

Baer by knockout. Dubois is strong and has a lot of potential to keep improving, but as of now he’s a very green fighter, so I don’t see him lasting very long against Baer.
