Round 3

Estrada is working that jab and putting some right crosses behind it, taking a few more chances. Verdugo is getting close and landing his own jabs in between Estrada's punches, but still getting largely out-sped and outlanded. Some very flush right hands over the top by Estrada, set up by his jab. Verdugo keeps coming and manages to rock Estrada back to the ropes with his arms spread wide in anticipation of a fall, but he rights himself and comes back with a vengeance, working those straight combos off the long jab.

Round 4

Estrada is getting in hard licks to the body. Verdugo tries to peck inside with a doubled left jab but Estrada's is faster, sharper and more accurate thrown after Verdugo's but landing before it. Estrada puts his hands together in quick and controlled fashion, squatting down and firing out of a tight guard.

Round 5

Verdugo is harassing Estrada with jabs and hooks coming forward, and ignoring the Estrada left jab as it bounces off his chin. Verdugo becoming very bold and reaping the reward. STIFF jab knocks Estrada back. Pause to check a cut on Estrada, not sure whether it was a butt or a punch. Time in. HARD jabs by Verdugo. 1-2. Another stiff jab in the kisser. Hook!! Estrada is trying to fight back but looking very fragile, with blood dripping down the middle of his forehead and along rivulets into both eyes. Verdugo chops away at him, but Estrada spins him to the ropes and lands well with both hands. BIG RIGHT HAND by Estrada!! Verdugo now has his back to the ropes and fires random shots at Estrada's head while the bleeding man pummels the body.

Round 6

Estrada's cutman was either on a smoke break during that last minute of stool time following the fifth, or did a horrible job. Estrada is bleeding even worse than he was when the bell rang. They come together and exchange straight shots. Verdugo looks very confident, while Estrada looks grim and determined. Pause. It's going to get stopped on the cut. NO! The doctor lets it continue. Hooks and uppercuts by Verdugo, toying with Estrada. A few jabs by Estrada, whizzing out blindly but he can't focus on the target. Verdugo is landing his own jab without any dispute now. Estrada abandons trying to locate his head and starts to just thump away with body shots. Verdugo backs out and circles, gazing at Estrada with his arms at his sides and picking him off with long-range power punches. Estrada's entire face is as red as his trunks.
