I think he's got a fair amount of talent and I like his mongrel in the ring. A little worried about his tendency to cut this early though. Survived a gut check in his last outing and has given away weight in each and every one of his fights so far.

Mangum comes with some wraps, so this will tell us exactly where he's at. At just 22, he's got plenty of time on his side. His style is exactly what the fans are after, which helps too.

Who's talking about rating Niemann...he's only had 4 fights...at least he's fighting an undefeated fighter from the states with 100% ko wins...can't ask anymore of him at this stage however he could be fighting much easier fights

seems like a big step up for Neimann. Only seen Lewis and Ellis fights of his. Good luck to him.

Yeah fair enough...but still i wonder why a 4-0 Cruiserweight from the US would come out to Australia if he were any good.
Also noticed Mangum fights exclusively out of the mid west so i will reserve my judgement on him.

Mangum got in touch and called out Niemann. A little bizarre, but that's how it's worked. I don't think Mangum is the second coming of Dwight Muhammad Qawi, but he's got a common opponent with Deontay Wilder, with a fraction of the experience and with the same result. Niemann jumped at the chance for a legit test, early doors in his career, which impressed me. Anyway, we will see what happens.

The more you hear about Daniel Geale the more you respect the guy:

Australian world champion Daniel Geale spurns million-dollar pay day to have title defence in Tasmania

    by Adrian W.arren - FOX Sports - July 8th 2011

He will fight 14th-ranked, Nigerian-born, American-based Eremoesele Albert at Hobart's Derwent Entertainment Centre on August 31 in Tasmania's first boxing world title fight.

Launceston-born, Sydney-based Geale, 30, took the title off Sebastian Sylvester in May, winning a split decision in the German's home state.

He had the option of a rematch with Sylvester and other potentially lucrative fights overseas.

"It was something that we did discuss, that we could possibly make a lot more money in other places," Geale told AAP from Hobart.

"We had massive offers from overseas, sort of million dollar pay cheques."

As someone who dreamt of defending a world title in Tasmania, while shadow boxing as a kid, Geale was determined to fight at home.

"It looked at one stage, it wasn't going to happen, but my management knew how much I wanted my first world title defence down here and they worked their butt off and made it happen," Geale said.

"I want to say thanks to Tasmania for such great support over the years."

Geale's manager and event promoter Garrie Francisco confirmed the financial sacrifice: "But he was adamant on taking a world title fight back home and I think that should be commended."

Albert, aged 36 with a 24-4-1 record, will have a slight height advantage.

"He is a tough guy, he's a little bit taller than me, but he's the type of fighter that throws plenty of punches," Geale said.

"I think it's going to be a pretty action-packed fight, he's going to be coming at me."

Albert said Geale was a very smart boxer and a deserved world champion.

"But he goes from the underdog to the favourite for this fight, I think he likes being the underdog," Albert said from Miami.

"That won't be the case this time around, so let's see how he copes with the pressure of being favourite to win."

A strong undercard includes Garth Wood fighting Johannes Mwetupunga for the national middleweight title, plus bouts involving up-and-coming featherweight Joel Brunker and super middleweight Jamie Pittman.

Some good match ups on the card, Pittman Vs Yannick should be a cracking fight.
