    do u agree?

i know many outside oz haven't seen this guy yet but he is like a machine, and he strikes me as being able to take good punishment but will still be unleashing his own arsenal.

he's a very busy fighter, and i think he would give most top guys in his division a headache.

His biggest win is Sylvester, winning about 7-8 rounds. SS wasn't as far gone as with Proksa, but he was far from "prime". Do you give him much credit for the disputed loss to Mundine?

I think Chavez has him on resume, and possibly h2h. And there's a few others he wouldn't be favored h2h with.

    07 W UD12 Daniel Dawson (29-0) vacant IBO title
    09 L SD12 Anthony Mundine (35-3)
    10 W TKO12 Roman Karmazin (40-3-2)
    11 W SD12 Sebastian Sylvester (34-3-1) IBF champion
    11 W UD12 Eromosele Albert (24-4-1)
    12 W UD12 Osumanu Adama (20-2)

I think at the moment, combining talent/skillset with resume/accomplishment, Geale is the #2 MW behind Sergio. I think it is pretty clear cut as well.

Yep, even before the Martinez-Macklin fight, I had Geale as number 2. Geale is a very talented fighter, he just lacks power. But now, I don't think there should be an argument. Super G lost and Macklin lost. If Geale isn't number 2 now, he definitely is overrated.

i think geale has kept improving since the mundine fight. and is yet to reach his potential imo.

I don't feel too strongly about it, I'd have him no 3, with Chavez at 2. But that ledger is not that impressive, and he's got good ability, but not outstanding.

I'm not sure this is that fair to him, but there's something to it.

    Nice.

Yeah, I think Chavez is at best a low end top 10 MW, but matches up well H2H. You cite Geale's resume as lacking, but if I do the same for Chavez, I come up with this:

    2005, D PTS6 Carlos Molina (8-1)
    2006, W MD6 Carlos Molina II (8-1-1)
    2010, W UD12 John Duddy (29-1)
    2011, W MD12 Sebastian Zbik (30-0) WBC title
    2011, W TKO5 Peter Manfredo Jr. (37-6)
    2011, W UD12 Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1)

I'll take Geales' resume every day of the week.

Geale's win over SS was cleaner, but I think Zbik was a little better/much fresher than SS, so that's a tie. Rubio is better than anyone else on Geale's resume. And he's got more fringe wins. No doubt he's been moved slow and protected, not sure that should figure. His biggest wins are his most recent, better than Geale's.

Basically other than Sergio, only Chavez can claim to have beaten 2 top 10 guys.

The underlined is indeed true. Not nearly enough though, dude.

Sylvester was RING and general consensus #3 MW going into the Geale showdown. That win is much better than the Zbik win. I scored Chavez/Zbik a draw in which Zbik won his rounds more convincingly.

If we're directly comparing fights, I would liken Chavez's win over Zbik to Geale's loss to Mundine, honestly. The Duddy and Albert wins are comparable, maybe slight edge to Duddy. The Osumana Adama and Karmazin wins are better than Chavez's Manfredo win. Rubio and Adama were not top 10 fighters, but were both top 15 MW's when Chavez and Geale fought them, respectively.

Another big thing... Chavez fought most of his career below 154. He is literally 7-0, with 1 KO at Middleweight. His first two fights at MW were the Matt Vanda controversies. Geale on the other hand, is 15-0 with 7 KO's at Middleweight. A lot more to look at and more proven.

Geale has the far superior resume. I think you're on your own with Chavez as the #2 MW.

Don't think he's underrated. He's unknown, but whoever knows him is aware of his qualities, which is quite good, plus he's fun to watch. But putting into perspective, Sylvester is his best win and Proxa, who lost just this weekend, blew away the German.

Like most ppl, I had Geale winning that fight.
Mundines corner intimidated the judges that night, appalling for Geale.

Geale has improved a lot since that Mundine fight, couldnt compare the
two fighters - as Geale is that much better than Mundine.

Didn't Geale win nearly every round in Germany?

He's decent but I see Lee, Martinez, Pirog, Golovkin, Chavez, Quillin, N'dam beating him. I personally don't consider him particularly talented.
