Apparently there was some controversy within the last hour and this almost didn't come off because the Geale camp suspected the Wood camp of glove tampering. (removing padding)

 

He is, but can you imagine the stick Golovkin would take for that defense? A 40-year-old midget with double-digit losses? :-(

(never mind that Soliman is always game and has paid more dues than most other MW contenders)

 

Geale is pulling a Tyson Fury to pump himself up during introductions, uppercutting his own face.

 

Oi, Daniel, shave your pits. It's like you've got a possum wedged in under either arm.

 

Round 1

Geale is jabbing at Wood from outside. Wood ties him up and hits behind the head with his right. Wood is warned. Geale pummels Wood into a corner. Left hooks and right hands. Wood turns his back, shrimping and dropping nearly to his knees. Geale keeps flurrying hard on him. Wood down. He somehow beats the count and survives.

Geale is darting in, popping up left jabs and slicing hard rights on the body of Wood. Overhand rights chucked in by Wood before shuffling hurriedly away. Geale is stalking, probing with the jab and then hacking with a right hand jumping in. Swatting left hook by Geale. Wood is hurt and cowering again. Low blow uppercut by Geale. Wood takes a knee. Time in. HARD right hand by Geale. Wood is knocked around by the forearms of Geale, thudding across the back of his neck as Wood bows and covers up. Wood backs away with a light jab pawed out as Geale approaches. Another borderline low blow and Geale loses a point.
