Aight, but what are his future now? Who do you expect him to fight and can he become a world champion again?

Absolutely, in a Sturm rematch. (or, if Soliman gets his Sturm rematch, he would have an even easier time reclaiming the IBF belt - since he basically does everything Soliman does in the ring, except better...)

Golovkin is an impossible dream for Geale, 100 percent quixotic.

Maravilla could be old enough by now to be ripe, but is still high risk. (and if still firing on all cylinders a class above Geale)

Now, as for Quillin - that is one to mull over. I would make Kid Chocolate a favorite, but not at long odds.

Well i actually Sturm really looked impressive against Barker, whereas he was lazy against Geale. Yet i think Geale can do the same number on him again.

Well Geale would be a test for Golovkin because of his awkwardness and if he can stay away from Golovkin's bomb, geale might steal a decision.

Haven't seen Quillin fight, but ESB doesn't seem to impressed with him.

What regards to Sergio, it depends what Sergio shows up. An old rusty Maravilla or the one vs Chavez in the first 11 rounds

Hey, whatever works...and work it does.

Chavez Jr. makes Guillermo Rigondeaux look as crude as Chuck Wepner. :deal

He will be too fast and too slick for everybody.

    He unifies within a year.

I think Geale would **** on Quillin, his hand speed tonight was impressing me even in slow motion replays

It would be intriguing, definitely. :good

Of the four alphabet titlists, he is the 2nd best option for Geale after Sturm IMO. Close to 50-50 in reality, but in the USA you have to assume preferential judging for Quillin...

Personally I want to see him get Quillin on his CV before a second Sturm fight. I don't see him being a threat to Martinez's movement, but he is on the way out. He's not beating Golovkin but I can see him being #2 middleweight in the not too distant future.

    1. I can't stop laughing at this, from the sight gag of the 1st round knockdown until the madcap finish...
    2. I can't stop thinking, on a serious note, that Gallen really ought to have been disqualified. That was vicious and unsporting. Sure, Ene-Purcell fired back a tiny bit in self-defense but it was mostly Gallen refusing to let up. I can't see condoning it on the grounds that it was two-way action with each man's behavior canceling out the other. Garry Dean really did a horrible job. He, first off, should have stopped it much sooner. Then when it played out the way it did he should have disqualified Gallen. Of course, it did take as many as four individuals to pry Gallen away, so you can't fault Dean for physically inability to keep the peace...but, if he were to have stopped it sooner when first would've been appropriate it may have prevented Gallen's blood lust from reaching that fever pitch where he couldn't stop himself and raged through a mob yanking at him.

Geale would fight GGG but his friend's neighbours cousins cleaners goldfish is/was sick. What can you do? Sometimes the stars just align against you...

Geale has absolutely no chance against Sturm.
Especially not the rejuvenated Sturm version 2.0 we see today.

As for Geale - Quillin, both are similarly inept, but Geale is tougher and can keep his ineptness going longer!

You mean the 'rejuvenated' Sturm that luckily fought a version of Barker whose entire corpus was effectively a "break in case of emergency" fire-alarm cover?

Not to discredit Felix too much, he took care of business and did what he needed to with the man put in front of him, but the man put in front of him that night was useless. You can't read too much into that.

A rematch with Sturm is the much easier route back to a championship than Quillin. :deal
