Geale was very assertive against Wood. Simply blew him away from the start. Macklin will be a much tougher opponent though. Hopefully Geale will employ the same aggressive approach and not give Macklin a look in.

This is a must-win fight for both guys. Its tough to see what is left for the loser here. Geale has better defence and doesnt mark up like Matt does.
Geale also has a great engine - no doubt about that....

But if Mack is not "washed up" then I would rate him over Geale. If Mack shows up like he did in the Sturm and Martinez fights then he should win...maybe even win surprisingly easily.
As regards the GGG fight - a one-punch ko after 21/2 rounds is not necessarily a career-ruining beating. In fact it worked out well for Matt that it wasnt a long brutal war of attrition.
Finally.....lets face it Geale is not that great!!!

You make some good points, if Macklin is not completely washed up I can see him stopping Geale in the mid to late rounds. Macklin is by no means a devastating puncher but he will be the biggest puncher that Geale has ever faced, and lets face it Geale's chin is very suspect.

I see you have your excuses prepared if Geale wins.
Bit worried about this fight I thought Barker would be a walk in the park because of him only having 2 fights since Martinez against average opponents. Hope Geale doesn't take Macklin lightly and I hope he doesn't deviate from his usual fight plan because he's on HBO.

I know a lot more about the current boxing seen than you, I watch all the big fights. You can't even discuss boxing with me you just resort to cheap personal insults when you disagree with me. Most posters in the General forum would agree with my analysis of this fight.

Its not a case of "having my excuses ready" Stiffy.
Its just that Macklin is a superior fighter to Geale based on their overall careers - so quite likely one of the few/only ways Geale can win IS if Mack is "finished". :good

You dont need to worry about Geale deviating from his usual plan - he only HAS one plan.
He rushes at his opponent flapping his arms like a demented washerwoman and hopes his great engine and admittedly decent/passable defence will see him through.
He is rarely hit cleanly more than once at a time (although having said that he generally fights poor opponents) and he certainly tops Macklin in the defence department.

Both men have to win this one and only one can - so it should be good.

Couldn't of described Geale's style better myself
Agree, Geale is only the favourite because Macklin is seen as a spent force but if he does have anything left he could take the demented washer woman out.

Will beinteresting to note how the bookies outside Australia see this one
I presume from what you are saying that Aussie bookies have installed Geale as favourite?
