    Round 8

Adama is being allowed to come forward a bit now, as Geale seems to be shoring up energy. Jabs to the body by Adama. Geale shimmies and takes some punches on the shoulders, then fires his own shots through and lands some quick counter combos. Adama jabs and backs out again. Geale misses a heavily loaded right hand. Adama charges in, triple jabbing and then crossing but missing all. Geale just trots in reverse, letting Adama's momentum carry him in and then picks him apart.

    80-72 Geale

Adama's most aggressive round (and Geale's least), still lost it.

Interesting to hear the home announcers have it so close. "Round 8 tough to split them" ....really? :blood

    Round 9

Geale jumps in and whacks away with the left hook, but gets caught on the high vertical right arm of Adama. Geale slaps down with overhand rights, hitting Adama on the back between the shoulder blades as Adama bends over and taps the body. NICE combo jumping in by Geale, finishing with a right uppercut to the bottom of the chin before darting out mercurially. Adama lunges out with jabs to the body while retreating. Lead right by Geale, on the hairline. Geale reaches out, caresses Adama with the jab to feel out range and position, and then snaps a harder version of it. Adama is just jogging backward, seeming unsure what to do. Geale comes jumping in and Adama has resolved to just focus on defense, ducking and swiveling his head. Actually some pretty impressive D by Adama, making Geale miss an entire combination. Geale walks into an Adama jab, and his head snaps back.

    90-81 Geale

The last two rounds have been the only ones where Adama did anything to even make an ARGUMENT (aggression and actual forward motion in the 8th, and then nice slick defense and counter jabs late in the 9th) - but in neither round was that argument near strong enough.

Both clear 10-9 rounds for Geale, and 1-7 were just off the chart domination.

It's as though they're self conscious about seeming like "homers" so they're overcompensating.

    Round 10

Geale comes forward winging duos, hooks and rights. Adama is able to nick him a bit with that counter left stick while circling out. Geale is biding his time on the outside, patiently working his way in from angles with constant shimmying and sidestepping before unloading. Adama is taking wide lateral steps, keeping off the ropes, not punching. Geale quickly puts up his left forearm to stem off a wild Adama overhand right. Nice body shot by Geale.

    100-90 Geale

This was always a mismatch. Not to toot my horn, but I seemed to have been one of the few on ESB to call it such from the moment it was announced.

People on the Aussie forum were strangely impressed by Adama when doing their scouting report on him. :huh

He never impressed me in any of his American TV appearances. :conf Not in any way that would suggest he can hang with an elite top 5 middleweight, anyway.

    Round 11

Geale is firing lead rights coming forward. Adama tries to match him with his own rights, but they're less accurate. Adama has abandoned his jab, and is sweeping out with hooks at chest level while backing up - missing. Geale uses a bit of shoulder roll coming forward, and slaps at Adama with lightning-flash triple hooks up top. Adama rediscovers his jab and lands a few. Geale gets his guard up, apparently figuring the shoulder roll isn't for him. That did the trick. The Adama jab stops landing. Geale ducks and dives in, lands a BIG left hook - and Adama goes down!!!!! RULED A SLIP! Geale walks him down with rights over the top.

    110-99 Geale
