Ahtong backs up and paws his southpaw jab as Maxwell rips him with two-fisted roundhouse attacks, lunging forward. Ahtong is getting clipped, mostly with the left hook. Ahtong is landing nothing in return, throwing an odd 1-2 but getting blocked. Jab/uppercut combos by Ahtong, thrown with conviction but blocked as well. Ahtong keeps getting wheeled back across the ring, as Maxwell bulldozes with those looping shots pushing up off his toes.

Unfortunately a common style down here among certain groups...it starts with that and moves on to a mullet/rats tail or if you're dedicated a Tszyu like ponytail.

Even more unfortunately I had one in my youth.

Can't accuse him of being an over the top personality like a Mayorga.

 

He really does sound like a regular dude who just happens to box.

 

Is anybody else regretting missing the first three rounds of Maxwell vs. Ahtong?

I'm curious how they gave it to AA, given that the commentators mentioned he got knocked down early on, and the fact that Maxwell was the constant aggressor in rounds 4-6 and landing heavier stuff most of the time, and the fact that Maxwell is the hometown hero from Tasmania. :think

 

Adama says he can box from any angle, can punch, can beat Geale many different ways. Easily.

He's pushing a lot of BS through those missing teeth. :yep

 

Ahhhh gotcha. The commentators just kept saying "he got knocked down" w/o using names - I just assumed it was Ahtong they meant. :good Thanks.
