Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine and duel world Middleweight belt holder, Daniel ‘The Real Deal’ Geale have agreed on terms for a fight, targeted for early 2013 with an official announcement expected to be made later this week.

Sources close to the fight, revealed the match-up to Aus-Boxing.com*two weeks ago.

In their first fight, it was Mundine who won a controversial decision over his fellow Australian, with the majority of fans walking away saying that Geale was robbed.

Since the fight, Geale has gone on to claim both the IBF and WBA Middleweight titles, but is expected to vacate the IBF title in favor of his rematch with Mundine.

“I am sick of people jumping on the Geale bandwagon, I feel he is no better than he was when I first fought him,” Mundine told The Daily Telegraph.

“I am still gunning for Mayweather, and I will be in high demand as the unified champion.”

While I never blame a fellow for rematching someone with a win over him, I'm about as excited to see Mundine challenge for two world titles as I'd be to see Jose Sulaiman in a bikini.

hes not fighting for a world title, hes fighting for leverage - two paper belts
shame for geale, from what i heard of him in a couple of interviews it sounded like he really wanted to follow up on his wins in germany and test the real waters

Geale will get paid a **** load more to fight Mundine in Australia then he would get fighting Martinez or GGG, makes total sense.

    depends what youre fighting for
geale is no calzaghe (meaning he doesnt have the talent to last too long if he ever tried to conquer the states), so maybe its for the better

Oh, we all know who "the champion" is, but it's still two major world titles and Mundine challenging for them ruffles my **** feathers.

Part of me is upset because part of me feels that Geale should be fighting GGG in his next fight or another more worthy opponent. However there are a couple of things that make me cool with this. First that he's trying to avenge a loss. I'm always in favor of fighters doing that and realize its improtant to them and their legacy to do so. Second I recognize that boxing is a business and that a Geale Mundine fight is big money.

Lastly, this article indicates that he'd be giving up his IBF belt to make this fight and is keeping his WBA belt. The WBA is already mandatign that Gaele and GGG fight eachother to determine the super champion so I imagine that this fight will eventually take place and that Geale is planning on take this fight after he avenges his only loss.

I see this as a solid fight for Geale. Mundine, as much as I hate saying it, is still a good victory. It's a highly profitable domestic showdown, and on paper redeeming a loss. It makes total sense to maximize that capital before "going to HBO." The fight being in early 2013 rather than mid 2013 is nice as well. I understand those who disagree but I am glad for this.

...When I say "get some", I don't mean my **** feathers. I'd hoped that was obvious. I meant some fisticuffs. Not fisticuffs full of **** feathers, either. You know what? Forget it. This is turning out differently than I was imagining.

The problem is Geale probably makes more money fighting Mundine in Australia than rematching Sturm in Germany or fighting Golovkin in the US. Not the most exciting thing to hear he's going to fight Mundine but it's probably a good choice business-wise.

This is a million dollar plus payday for Geale in Australia........ He can't get half that fighting anyone anywhere around the world.

    Smart move.

useless fight but I agree he should go for the $$ as he will not beat GGG or Martinez
