[yt]YulN9sZ1oiA[/yt] Against Sturm, geale seemed to have success when coming forward, and swamping with a myriad of punches though I dont feel this would be wise vs golovkin - he would ultimately get tagged with a counter from the fearless Golovkin, (something Sturm didnt really employ for some reason) added to that, Daniel makes the mistake of standing fairly upright in the pocket, ala vs sturm, which would present an attractive target for GGG. He would need to be very snappy with one two combinations, then get low out of the pocket quick as hell, using the agility he posesses. then once in a while snap back in with a jab to get GGG unawares.....I think an awkward in and out low using angles, and his vaunted aerobic stamina would be his best option. We saw macklins' demise come from running, then simply covering against GGG. I'd like to see Geale adopt a back foot attack as defence, with the odd in and out flurry then get out low as to avoid being decapitated. I truely believe Geale has a chance here. Hes smart and has an ability to adapt I feel. He's boxed Golovkin in the ams which you'd feel can only help. His fight vs a similar styled fighter in Karmazin might be his best stratagem - never stationary! Get inside, smother, make it dirty and try to land a similar body shot to the one that put Barker on the floor. If Geale stays on the outside trying to jump in and out, he's gonna get that jab and eventually get timed for something nasty. When he is on the outside, movement with a purpose. One thing I didn't understand about the Barker fight was Geale seemed to do a lot of moving just for the sake of movement. I thought he would be a lot busier too. He probably has the highest work rate at 160, imo.
Geale is a canny operator and a bit under rated I feel. This is by no means an easy fight for GGG. Never seen Geale completely outclassed tbh. Geale's best bet is to have constant movement with high workrate coming in and out of range whilst keeping fairly low and keeping the body as well protected as possible. He needs to control the distance in this fight to have a chance. Geale has a decent jab that he can use to set up body punches, and I think working to the body would be more effective against GGG - as he protects his chin pretty well and it seems solid as a rock.
Throw a lot of punches, but never in the one spot too much. Geale needs to box and move. GGG cuts off the ring well, Geale needs to find a way around that. If Geale couldn't stand and trade with Barker, then best he gets on his bike against GGG.
Geale is definitely underrated. Especially after the loss to Barker and Barkers subsequent loss to Sturm. Geale has a very high workrate. This will be a tough fight for GGG. Geale won't stand in front of him and let himself get punched in the face.
That is pretty much it. If can pull this off and tolerate brutal beating to get UD loss, then his stock will raise inevitably.
If Geale comes to fight and GGG doesn't KO him then my opinion of GGG will change. Geale does not impress me. To date, GGG has. I will be surprised if GGG doesn't KO Geale inside of 8.
