Iannazzo by losing his PABA Super Bantam title shot against Filipino Alan Tunacao by SD has spoiled his previously unbeaten record. Any reports from the fight ? Has he got what it takes to move to the next level ? I'd like to see him fight Mark Quon or Fred Mundraby in the near future.
Apologies Hands by the time I'd put my new thread together and posted it, yours was already up - they were about 5 minutes apart - have since altered it so it doesn't directly clash. Sad to see Danny drop one. Didn't see it so can't offer anything specific. At 22, still has great potential though.
The filo kid who beat him apparently goes good. He is the son of Teofilo Tunacao who fought here in the 90's. I heard he won a lot easier than the scorecards suggest. big effort from the filo boy - 12 rounds first fight in oz. Daniel is a good fighter, he can bounce back.
Promoter was Charlie Liporota - calling him would seem a logical way of going about it - Phone: 0400 817332.
From what I hear Dan lost almost every round. Dan tried loading up on everything, didnt work off the jab enough and sat on the ropes....he has the goods for sure bet needs to be fighting a different fight.
The scores were crazy in this fight. Dale Westerman had it 15-13 for Alan. Chris Anderson had it 15-13 for Dan & Aneeka Williams had it 119-109 for Alan. I thought Williams must have been sitting in the bleachers until the weight of numbers agreed with her score. Tunacao barely lost a round so it's reported. Dale & Chris need to see an optomitrist if this is so. :nut
Yeah 119-109 sounds right from what I hear...no chance of it going the other way...begs the question :think
There just shouldn't be discrepancies this wide in judges cards full-stop. Sadly, history shows they've occurred in many bigger fights than this one.
Local fight nights are unfortunately riddled with scorecards like this, just to give the local fighter the best opportunity of winning.
Ippy... I'd hate to think Mundraby will folllow the same weary path as many other potentially great Aboriginal fighters and run out of stock feed on the way up. Promoters should see a hint of fortune in him perhaps?
