The whole documentary is good, most interesting part was what he has to do to make 160.

Good insight into what boxers do to make weight.

The weight making is between 18.15-27.30

Just move up in weight or find a better way to make it. Those sweat suits and malnurishment are bad for ones health. A fighter should never do that. ****, Jacobs himself said that dehydration is a big risk and loss of fluid around your brain could cause a bad injury inside the ring.

    fken dummies.

All I heard was him complaining about it, well why is he at that weight then?

Nobody is putting a gun to his head and making him stay at 160lbs.

Because if he moves up to 168, he'll be in against guys who do the exact same thing, and who get in the ring around 180.

Hes just doing what most fighters do

All of these techniques will eventually take years off
of these fighters lives. Dehydration is always very bad
for your health, and engaging in rigorous exercise during
dehydration is even more dangerous. In addition, nobody
regains full composure in just 32-36 hrs from full dehydration
so there's really no advantage just because you're heavier.
I say bring back same day weigh-ins. You always weigh less
in the morning and you could just eat light 2 days before
weigh-in without dehydrating and still come in 3-5 lbs
heavier than what you weighed in that morning because
you would eat 2-3 times before you fight and drink more
fluids. Fighters would make, lets say 154, and could still
be as high as 160 come fight time completely hydrated.
we'd see better and more competitive fights that way.

it's a concept born in america to try and gain a big advantage over your opponent

    Crawford,Dawson,jacobs,broner,ward all do it

Dawson and Ward? Chad is tall but not that big. He weighs on average 185. At least he used to. And Ward rehydrated only 8 pounds in his last two fights.

Victor Ortiz and Maidana weighed 164 vs Mayweather. Thats 17 pounds. Those are middleweights fighting at welterweight

Keith Thurman 162 vs Robert Guerrero 152. Guerrero with the same day weigh in could still make 147, could Thurman make 154?

So many fighters jump 2 weight classes come fight night, its annoying.

dawson has weighed in at 193 before, the highest ringweight ever for a light heavyweight

and ward weighed in as a cruiserweight by your calculations and thats only his last two fights

Ortiz is american? your point is? thurman too

My point was that Ward and Dawson dont rehydrate that much. I admit i was wrong about Dawson. (who did he weigh 193 against?)
8 pounds is not a lot but guys like Ortiz and Broner who climb two weight classes, thats just insane.
I dont care if anyones American or not. Chavez Jr is notorious for his weight management and hes a Mexican.

chavez jr comes from an american system, and broner at super feather was a joke with how big he came in

Don't blame that sh-t on America. Boxing is global and taking weight advantages is also global. It human nature to seek advantages in competition ( Whatever it is ).
