I like Chavez Jr. No idea why. Kind of hoping he pulls the upset here.

I'll believe Jr if he fights competitively against Danny. Otherwise he remains nothing more than a major waste of talent.

    Just two quick observations.

    1. Why is everyone falling for this **** again? Jr. has and will always be someone who doesn't have world-class skills, natural talent, or the desire to be a professional boxer. By professional, I mean taking his career seriously and working hard to make up for his natural shortcomings. We all know that he only gets these fights because he "sells" tickets. We have all seen that he doesn't like to train, and we will once again be complaining after this fight how he looked terrible because of his conditioning. Yet here we are and there are some of you who are falling for his act even though we've all seen it before. However, THIS time I bet he trained super hard...said no one ever.

    2. If Jr. or his opponent wore their trunks any higher, they would have had to cut holes in them so their arms could poke out.

If I don't have anything better else to do, I might tune in.

Jacobs is generally a low output fighter, who doesn't hit particularly hard, so I doubt Chavez will be bothered too much by Jacobs punches. This gives Chavez a chance to land a couple of big shots in a round and maybe win some rounds or at least keep it close. This is an interesting matchup tbh because I could see it going either way. One thing that favors Jacobs though is the weight. He no longer has to struggle to make 160 so he should be in better shape. I'd expect Jacobs to be on his bike as usual and the question might be can Chavez walk him down, trap in on the ropes and unload on him, or will Jacobs slip away and jab his way to a decision?

That 18-1 makes it tempting enough to toss a cupla bucks on this.

The one thing Chavez has going for him is that he went into training camp already in good shape.
He's actually had a training camp where he's working on certain aspects of the game to use against Jacobs instead of
just using the whole camp to see to it that he's able to make weight.
Having said that, I'm not so certain Chavez will be able to make the weight limit without severely draining himself.

The odds look inviting to place a nice size bet on Chavez Jr. to pull the upset. Saw a clip of El Zurdo Ramirez talking about sparring Chavez at the Wild Card Gym just recently, and according to Ramirez, Chavez is prime and ready to beat Jacobs.
However, I refuse to place a bet on an individual like Chavez that's been so undisciplined throughout his career.
Just cant do it, but unlike others in this forum, I do think he has a certain amount of skill to where if he doesn't struggle to much to make
the weight, he just may be able to pull it out vs Jacobs.

Will be happy just to see a good fight between the two.

Jacobs only has to stay on his feet.

He is working with Hearn, it's as good as a 6 point head start.

No, he dodged a test from VADA, he had some flimsy excuses, NSAC still haven't decided whether they're going to let him fight or not. His hearing is on the 17th, tomorrow.

This would be one of the best upset calls of all time. I think Danny gets a TKO late when Chavez doesnt come out of his corner.
