I'm a big fan of @GK BOX as a poster but cannot cosign with him here. I'm a diehard Danny Jacobs fan, always have been back to his amateur days, I remember just knowing he and Demetrius Andrade -- out of that class -- were going to be world champions and they are both great dudes. Jacobs is one of the most underappreciated fighters of this generation and in recent memory. His only two losses were to two of the most gifted, talented, and best MW's of modern times(no doubt in my mind Pirog would have beaten GGG, but I dont think he would have had the same unbeaten streak as GGG). Not to mention, I actually had him tieing GGG and would have had him winning if he didnt get dropped, but still he wasnt dropped hard.

Danny Jacobs has more character, honor, integrity, and grit in his left pinky than most groupings of two people you could find. Fast tracked the second he turned pro and blazed through the ranks until he ran into Pirog. Pirog was the better fighter that night, he was older, more seasoned and experienced, and he was such a unique fighter that it was probably impossible for Jacobs to find sparring that would have prepared him 1/4 for Pirog. He fights his balls offand was winning until the KO. It was a very competitive and even fight. And I think he was 21 at the time. Most dudes never would have made it back from that. The Lord Almighty though knows what Jacobs is made of and throws Cancer on his plate. Right after a crushing defeat like that.

Jacobs: Ya, no problem, I got this, Cancer effed with the wrong one. He proceeds to whoop cancer's ass an route to getting back into title contention and hasn't looked back since. An absolute motherload of size, physical ability/talent/athleticism, which in all honesty undoubtedly hindered his progression in skills.

I'll never bet/make predictions with my head when it comes to Jacobs or Andrade -- all comes from the heart so this is no different. Jacobs KO's Ginger a-hole in 6 and becomes THE MAN at MW.

 

I think it’s the opposite Danny has got to use his feet and his jab to accumulate points. Red is too skilled to trade with

Maybe he will win according to majority of people, who viewed the fight. But Canelo still gets UD.

Look, I think Danny has the skill set, speed and mobility to completely befuddle Canelo. He's gonna make Canelo look slow footed in this fight, I'm certain of it. The thing is, Canelo throws flashy eye catching combinations. I think alot of stuff wont land clean but they will give the impression that they are landing and will add up. Unless Danny throws punches in bunches and makes his shots just as flashy as Canelo's he won't win a decision. It's strategy.

And people saying Canelo is gonna destroy Danny's body, Danny is more than fast enough to make him pay over the top as Canelo throws downstairs.

 

Agreed. And they talk of Canelo's hand speed as if Danny has none. Jacobs has faster hands, feet, reflexes than Canelo. Canelo's hands will look almost pedestrian speed wise against Jacobs.

One thing that is usually overlooked in regards to Jacobs fights is his trainer Andre Rozier who is a very underrated trainer and gameplanner. Hes worked and improved loads of world class pros and I doubt there is a fighter out there that brings much if anything to the table he hasnt seen before and I highly doubt any MW brings something so significant to a Jacobs fight that he couldnt come up with a great gameplan with Jacobs for, considering he probably has the most gifted MW in the world in Jacobs, at least relevant MW's.

Canelo is no pirog

 

This is as good of a post as I've ever read on a boxing forum. I can't even begin to describe the level of respect I have for Jacobs. I had my wife watch the 24/7 before the GGG fight and I've created a monster. About once a month ever since, she asks when Danny is fighting again and when he's gonna have another "boxer life show". So needless to say, the Mrs. and I will be cheering our guts out for Jacobs this weekend. Nothing, and I mean nothing, in boxing would make me happier than watching Danny spark Canelo and go home with 3 belts. I would probably, and shamelessly, shed a few tears. Nobody would deserve it more.

 

Silly little boys should be banned from adult forums. Good part is we can ban them ourselves when we put them on ignore Bye bye Pumpkin
