Ishe Smith is a very good boxer, the problem is that he is moving from 154 to 160. He never really had that much power to begin with. Smith can possibly get a decision over Jacobs but there is no way he is stopping him.

Tough tough fight. Danny needs someone alive in his next fight but this is a step to much at the moment for me.

I think its a good fight. If Jacob beats him his stock shoots up. Love watching Ishe fight he's a defensive master

I'm glad Jacobs is stepping up. I think he can win.

Jacobs is going to beat the **** outta Smith. It won't go 6 rounds.

Interesting fight...I have to wonder how Ishe's going to adjust to the move up in weight, although he's never been a puncher. Jacobs should win this, but he better not take Smith lightly.

    Question:

why does Ishe Smith's name keep popping up for fights? The guy is awful, he has a very boring un fan friendly fighting style. I don't understand it.

I'm actually all for relaxing the premium placed on the sacred almighty zero.

Jacobs is at a point where there's some buzz generating now, let him step up. If he stumbles and his record gets dinged, oh well. Nothing a little determination can't spackle right up.

I think it is a good developmental fight. Completely different from Walker, but poses little real threat. Further, Smith is the first Jacobs opponent that did not make me wonder, "Who the **** is this guy.!:yep

We had a whole long thread about Jacobs stepping up awhile back. I suggested McKart, Ornales, Rubio, Zuniga, but others seemed to think that was to big a step. I actually like this idea, and it goes 8 rounds, not six!

Ishe should be fine he fought the contender at Middleweight.

I heard Ishe's been working on his style to make it more fan friendly.

I'm pretty sure I was right there with you on some of those  Better give me some credit.

And speaking of match making, if I'm in control of Danny Jacobs, I'm ****ing RUNNING from this fight. This a very bad fight for Danny...Ishe has a nasty style that kills all potential marketability unless you can knock him out. Danny will win a close fight but there's no reason to take this fight.

    Stupid.

I have to agree with most of the posters on here. This is not a fight I would recommend for Danny. I have never watched an Ishe Smith fight without wondering why the powers that be still put him on television. It is almost impossible to look good against him. I was really hoping for Peter Manfredo Jr. Still a step up, a guy who has fought at middle and super middle, a fan friendly fighter and a much bigger name.

That's actually a really good name that I didn't think of. I originally figured his next opponent could be either Billy Lyell (coming off a big upset win over Top 10 MW John Duddy) or even K9 Bundrage.
