On the recommendation of @CST80. :D

I missed this when it happened fourteen months ago, but tomorrow is never promised us. Both the Golden Child and Gorilla have now retired from prizefighting, so this let this final RBR serve as sendoff to both.

    Round 1

Ryder having a look, keeping his right big toe within a couple of centimeters of Danny's left. Jacobs pawing a jab. Ryder easing off, leaning, ducking, parrying. Nothing offensively yet from Ryder. Lots of posing from Ryder, defending well against head shots but Jacobs throwing away high jabs to bury right hands just above Ryder's belt line. Good body work from Jacobs probably winning him a very slow opener. Spinning clinch. Jacobs looks nervous and wide-eyed but calms down, lands a nice 1-2. Jacobs with a double jab to body and head.

    10-9 Jacobs

    Round 2

Ryder is catching Jacobs' left arm in his right, pinning it, and bopping him with the left. Jacobs reaching with a lead right and skimming past Ryder's ear with it. Good straight left plugged into the body by Ryder en route to a clinch. Ryder's footwork much surer and smoother than in the 1st. Landing with single blows - right jabs or hooks, or chopping lefts - and stepping out. Jacobs leaning in and grabbing when he senses Ryder pressing inside. Grazing right hand by Jacobs. Combo by Jacobs, blocked. Ref having to stay very involved in this as they collide frequently, either clinching or bumping & grinding.

    10-9 Ryder

    19-19

    Round 3

Ryder is shuffling in, then lifting the ball of each foot off the mat to rock onto his heels, pawing right jabs at the body, nagging at Jacobs, looking to lather up combos inside if he can cleave in tight. Jacobs disallowing it, using right uppercuts and bashing left hooks to create space or a sharp left jab to preserve it. Good cat and mouse movement by both.

    10-9 Jacobs, close

    29-28 Jacobs

Rosado - as in Gabe? - has it 30-28 at this juncture, giving the first round level 10-10 and the next two for DJ.

    Round 4

Ryder is scoring well with the right jab, feinting downstairs and then using stutter-steps to fake Jacobs out, advancing a step, suddenly rushing in and throwing it quick from an odd angle. Nothing much else besides the odd Trojan horse jab by Ryder, however. Jacobs' defensive movement denying most of his lunges at the body. Lots of brief clinches. Jacobs roping out a jab between Ryder's eyes. Ryder is turned sideways as he crab-walks in, trying for a right jab and then grabbing at Jacobs. Left hooks by Jacobs blocked, but he plugs Ryder in the gut with a right uppercut.

    10-9 Jacobs, close

    Round 5

Ryder is staying outside, kept honest by the Jacobs jab. Mostly it's only tickling his forehead, as Ryder is tucking his chin and has the left glove up to protect it. Jacobs with some pendulous body combos to deter Ryder the few times he tries jumping in. Ryder decides to go for broke late and flashes a right jab only to spam several straight left hands in a row rushing Jacobs into the ropes, but none really get through cleanly.

    10-9 Jacobs

    Round 6

Ryder eats a pair of right hands jabbing his way into a clinch. Ref warns Jacobs for something - roughhousing on the inside? Didn't see, whatever it was - and Jacobs doesn't argue with the ref. Right hands up top and left hooks on the body by Jacobs from a healthy distance while circling. Ryder ducking low and then springing in as he straightens up tall jabbing and hooking in on Jacobs. This isn't pretty stuff, lots of near-misses and collisions with a jittery southpaw and orthodox fighter both wanting to counter-punch. Ryder with head movement slips a few Jacobs jabs, but Jacobs stuffs a 1-2 into his mush.

    10-9 Jacobs, close

    Round 7

Ryder is slinging his right hook in, diversionary measure to get Jacobs' arms up so he can go for the body with a left. Their arms get entangled several times on just this sort of sortie. Clinches still frequent, Jacobs thumping Ryder on the flanks with the halves of his extremities that are free past his elbows. Ryder is faking the high jab, ducking in, springing up and bopping Jacobs with the left. Ryder forcing a messy inside brawl. Ryder with a few lefts at short range on the button. Crowd getting into this, feeling it. Rough clinch, both hitting the body. Jacobs with a late flurry but not much gets hits paydirt.

    10-9 Ryder

    68-65 Jacobs

    Round 8

Ryder is coming straight at Jacobs, who's turning southpaw. Ryder is willingly taking a shot or two in order to get in and whip Jacobs across the cheek with a right hook - and the shots Ryder is taking, he's shrimped up and rolling with, recoiling into a defensive posture between his own hurls. Ryder is controlling Jacobs' arms in the clinch, pushing down so that he can't even work the body. Ryder squeezes Jacobs' arms to his sides, lets go for a second, rattles off some quick light uppercuts with both hands hitting Jacobs on the nose, and goes right back into a bear hug. Ryder again releases, hits, re-clamps. Very good staccato inside work by Ryder. Jacobs looks flummoxed. Jacobs eating some big shots now. BIG left uppercut by Ryder.

10-9 Ryder, absolute best round either one has yet had, by far

    77-75 Jacobs

    Round 9

Ryder is staying inside Jacobs' foyer, making him deeply uncomfortable. Jacobs unsure whether to step back or tie up. Ryder snatching, releasing, flurrying with precision and repeating it all over again. Ryder is wrestling Jacobs into the ropes until the ref makes him let go. Ryder swinging his right fist by his crotch. Jacobs tries a left jab, and scores it but eats a right jab from Ryder that jolts him a little. Ryder spiraling in close on Jacobs, threading his way around Jacobs' jabs and rights, and smacking him with both hands with both straight and cuffing shots. Ref warns someone, I think Jacobs, for incidental rabbit punches. Flurry by Jacobs churning air.

    10-9 Ryder

    86-85 Ryder
