Ryder will beat Jacobs pretty comfortably. As we know Jacobs is a good spoiler and might edge a round here and there with his counters but overall it should be all Ryder (workrate, eyecatcher and pressure/ring generalship). Ryder is the worst matchup a guy like Jacobs could face in 2022. Ryder a) brings a lot pressure; b) throws a lot of shots; c) is very awkward with a high guard and weird angles; c) has insane cardio; d) fights at home in the UK and e) is much better fighting on the front foot than Danny is fighting on the backfoot. The only way Jacobs wins is a vintage performance deluxe but i doubt we'll see that kind of performance after his last two fights against Chavez and Rosado. People get a bit sentimental with Danny and i can see why. He went through a lot of **** and he had a good career and fought the best guys at 160. And he looked damn good most of the time. But Prime Danny is gone for a while now. Past Performances don't win fights. And with his recent performances Jacobs won't win 4 rounds against a guy like Ryder in the UK.
I couldn't agree more with this post. On another note, I'm very curious how Jacob's looks at the weigh in tomorrow. Even at 168 he is cutting some major weight. At 35 years old and cutting to make 160 for most of his career, I wonder how much he could possibly have left.
